There is a little wi-fi problem. But the boss and his assistants worked well to satisfy us. The room number 1 is really nice. Thanks for the daily tea and coffee accommodations. AP and DD
staff friendly, could do with tea and coffee in rooms, but very good for price
This was perfectly Ok. There was a restaurant in the hotel building which provided a good very reasonably priced breakfast. My only complaint was that the window in my room could not open as the sash cord was broken. Consequently the room was a bit stuffy. I should add that as the hotel fronts a main street and the weather was cold I would not have wanted it open for long!
friendly, helpful staff. room was basic but all that we needed. clean with daily maid service. breakfast was nice and served at a decent time 8-11.
You get what you pay for & this is certainly what we got. On walking into reception we were met with an overwhelming smell of fish, due to the attached restaurant, which was a bit off putting. Did get us thinking that this was probably not going to be to our liking but overall our room wasn`t too bad, just big enough for two sharing & very clean. The bathroom was probably the worst feature, although clean it was very small. Getting in & out of the shower was tricky & with a wet floor & no bath mat very dangerous. No tea & coffee facilities are provided in the room which was a shame as we all need a drink to start the day!!Overall I would give the room 5/10.
A great choice for getting round and about the wonderful city !With everything on the doorstep, from the tour buses, airport transport and some fantastic pubs, this hotel makes a great base - the staff are welcoming and friendly. One gripe ..... the website advertises tea making facilities, but to be honest we never needed this as theres so much on the doorstep. Will definitely be returning in the new year
good hotel very close to everything in Dublin
If you`re looking for a cheap and cheerful option then this is the place for you! The location of the hotel was excellent, really close to the shops and 5-10 min walk to temple street. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The staff were all friendly and the towels were changed every day. The room was quite spacious if not a little tired looking. The room was good value for the price, however the only down side was that our room (24) was on the side of the building where the bins were emptied during the nite which made it a bit noisy-so was woken a couple of times each night during our stay. Otherwise, I would be happy to stay here again for its good location and as a cheap and cheerful option!
Very clean and well decorated.Pleasant and helpful staff.Excellent restaurant, food good, well presented and reasonably priced.only one small niggle - no tea/coffee in room - not that important but would make life more enjoyable!
Dont be fooled by the sidewalk. May not be high brow but great for what you need.
Perfect central location and the hotel was clean tidy and very comfortable. Excellent value for money the staff were friendly and helpful, I would return to the hotel and I would recommend it to any anyone.
We arrived at Lynams not knowing quite what to expect after reading the reviews on the internet. The hotel is in a great location and we had a friendly greeting when we arrived. The hotel is tidy and clean but would benefit from some modernisation. Taking into account the price we paid for the hotel we got excellent value for money. If you`re looking for a low cost, ideally situated and friendly hotel this is ideal - if you want a plush hotel with all the luxuries, you need to look elsewhere (and pay more).
found staff very helpful. resturant facilities excellant. room needs freshening up. tv remote not working.could have done with tea/coffee making facility in room.otherwise most enjoyable stay.
Our stay was fine, exactly what you would expect. Clean room, polite service. The hotel had a great location easy to walk anywhere down town. No issues with cleanliness as others have stated. We will def stay here next time we visit Dublin.
Excellent location, near the Spire, the post office, bus stop, river. Beautiful room (number 29). Great value for money.
very helpfull and curious reception staff. rooms clean and comfortable. very good access to all areas of the city. beakfast manue for vegitarians is not good. not enough variety to choose from when compared to other hotels we have used in the past. manager on duty was not attentive to guests` request for his attention. staff at reception were very helpful and gave very good advise.
right in dublin city centre great spot if you want a good value room at a great location. staff were polite and helpful.
Great Irish breakfast but only one girl serving for which, she deserves a medal having to cope with such a demand .
my husband is asthmatic and found the four flights of stairs very difficult so no lift was very disappointing the room was lovely and clean and all the usual supplied. the biggest drawback was the noise of some of the other residents the walls were very thin however the price and convenience of being right on O Connell street means we would go back if the lift is working!
Pros- Right in the centre with bus links, tours, pubs, shops and everything you might need on the doorstep. I got a very reasonable rate of £75 for a double for 2 nights so it was very good value for money. Also the room was very clean, well furnished and large.Cons- Loud outside, but being in the centre that was to be expected. The walls within the hotel were quite thin. I didn`t feel my things were very safe in the room as they operate a leave the key at reception when you leave the hotel system. I know many hotels do this, but as the staff on reception seemed to change so often through the day I didn`t feel anyone could recognise me and so I felt anyone could have picked up my key when I was out.All in all though I was extremely pleased witht he hotel and it`s friendly staff.
Location was very convenient and the bed was clean.Otherwise it was poor quality and needs some work. The wallpaper was dirty and damaged, the bathroom was uncleaned and there were masonry holes in the walls left unrepaired. We only had hand towels - unbeknownst to us - resulting in a "planes, trains and automobiles" moment and the staff were reluctant to solve this despite several requests for full sized towels. After much effort and discussion we got two larger, but still not full-sized towels with stains on them. The maid service was also incredibly lazy. We stayed for three nights and saw no sign of a maid service until the last evening when, while at dinner, the bed was made - over all the things that we had left on the bed, there was no other evidence of a maid service. Also the food in the restaurant below the hotel was not cheap and was not great.
On Sunday at 4pm we returned to find the front door, we rang the bell and got no answer. We had to enter via the cafe. Monday mornings breakfast was not cooked enough. A replaement was brought, but breakfast had already been rewined. Over all the room was clean and tidy.
Cosy, friendly hotel bang in the centre of Dublin with all requirements nearby including cinema, supermarket, information office and airport bus.
This hotel is in a great place on a main attraction road in Dublin. The bus to and from the airport stops right outside and if you go on any tours the bus picks you up right outside the doors as well. The room was neat and tidy and it was great for our two night stay. The only downfalls were there was only 3 television stations and the view was of a big air conditioner but that did not bother us at all.
Hi,Whilst the hotel is in an excellent location we thought the cleanliness and facilities were below standards. The lift was out of service for the first 2-days. Although reasonably clean the bathroom smelt of urine, it should have at least been discinfected. The light above the sink did not work and the shaving light only worked for a while when the diffuser was pushed. The hot tap at the sink only had a trickle. We did report these faults every day but but nothing was done. When you consider we would normally stay at Cassidy`s where costs are very simular there is a massive difference in standards.best regardsMick Scullion
This is a central city small hotel that offers a reasonable restaurant and bar. The pay two nights and get a third free deal was very competitive. Rooms were clean and the one I had of reasonable size. Staff were very helpful. I would definitely wish to stay there again.
I have no complaints for what we paid it was very good. A light bulb didnt work in the bathroom,I told receptionist and it was replaced in about an hour no problems. All the staff were very friendly, the bed was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and reasonable. Ok the hotel could do with a make over and the stairs creaked but it was all part of the experience. I loved it right in the middle of the shops no problems getting there and back to airport , bus stop right outside. Will definately stay there again.
Few problems with the room-sheets were dirty, pillows were dirty, no bath mat,the curtains didn`t close!!and the window let in a draft!!!!!
12 of us girls stayed in this hotel over the Halloween weekend 2010 - we found the staff pleasant, the hotel was situated right in the middle of town. Easy walk to supermarkets, bars, clubs, shops, cafes.. The room sizes were ample, cant complain. We are planning to come back again and we will stay here!!!
Location is very good. Excellent position for airport shuttle bus.
