The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We would use the hotel again.

When we arrived there we was put in to room number 420, we soon found out that the toilet flusher did not work and that there was no shower head on the shower, but to be fair when we complained we more or less got moved to a different room within 30 minutes, only had single beds though, but again the staff was very helpful and ended up putting us in one of suites for our other 2 nights, apart from this I would recommend this hotel to anyone, really helpful staff and a great location, the food in the restaurant was also really good, 4.5 out of 5 for us!!

A charming hotel. The rooms are extremely large, especially bearing in mind the inexpensive rates. My main concern was that the hotel was overheated (we stayed in December, the warmth was welcoming at first, but felt oppressive at 3 am...), and the only way to adjust the temperature was to turn on an unbelievably noisy air-conditioning system, since windows are locked. Plumbing in the bathrooms is perfectly functional and charmingly historical, but not quite up to the standards of contemporary fittings. Breakfast quality and atmosphere were average.

We had an excellent stay at the Thistle Hyde Park and would recommend this to anyone. The rooms were clean and very welcoming, and the staff were very helpful .

The hotel was welcoming the moment you entered it. The staff were extremely attentive and answered every question I asked about attractions in the area. Fantastic value, good evening meal and a great breakfast. What more could you want?

Impressive rate for a 2 night break -see winter promo. A small room but was clean and catered for all our needs. Overlooking Kensington Gardens on the first floor. Didn`t really notice the traffic close by. A good breakfast (only spoiled by the cleaner hoovering around our table!). We had a warm welcome. Our allocated room was not to our liking. No view, obscured glass window and noise from a generator. We were quickly provided with a much better alternative as described earlier. Best of all this hotel is well located with easy transport links to the heart of London

A most warm welcome at reception. At check in the duty manager went the extra mile to ensure our party had rooms on the same floor and next to each other. The rooms were well presented and very clean. Some ageing of the bathrooms & fittings, but everything worked perfectly. So handy having a refrigerator to keep our sparkling wine I cool, and it was also stocked with water for guests to utilise. Unexpected additional luxuries like kettle/ingredients for tea/coffee + complimentary biscuits were gratefully received. needed. So useful on departure day, to be able to leave luggage securely until our planned evening travel. One of the more accommodating hotels we have stayed in within the City. Very good location for parks, especially Winter Wonderland around Christmas time. Easy access to buses and metro. We recommend this hotel and have already entered a positive rating on Trivago. Thank you to the tour operator, this was a great deal and we are very likely to book with you again.

Stayed at hyde park 05 dec for 2 nights, hotel reception area spacious and clean, i had booked two rooms a twin and a double, which i was in with my wife. We stayed in room 133, the window obviously looked into the well on the inside of the building, but you could not see anyway for the windows were frosted and if you are a bit clostophobic its not good, there where problems with the hot water and getting a hot shower was impossible, there was also a water stain on the ceiling , on the morning of our departure water was running down the wall not far from electric switches, and onto the bedside cabinet, we had a great weekend but my next stay in london will not be at this hotel. ,

Excellent service, staff very friendly and helpful, on the whole our room was good, bathroom could do with a little updating, especially the tiling.

Our room was good, lovely to have the chance to cool it down. The handles in the bath were very dirty around the attachment but otherwise a clean room. Very disappointing breakfast on Sat at 8.30am. Cooked items luke warm at best, bacon dried up and stiff, did not try fried eggs as looked so poor. Mushrooms stone cold. We had a partial refund but decided not to take breakfast on the Sunday as £12 for a subs standard cold meal is excessive. All staff friendly and helpful. Hotel in great location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four days at the hotel and thought your staff were excellent - bright, friendly, helpful and always with a smile. the rooms were excellent except for the bathrooms - the bathrooms were very elegant but the bath was difficult to get in and out of (no hand holds!) if you are over 70 and the bath taps and shower fittings are worn and old-fashioned and let the bathrooms down. A VERY small negative, the rest was wonderful.

If you are wanting a hotel for perfect location, near Paddington Station,on the bus route and underground & train route this hotel is perfectly located.Ask for Hyde Park facing rooms, otherwise u will be stuck in the back rooms,which have windows but are painted white & dont open.Rooms are big & spacious. Plumbing is a huge problem. Dont expect the water to come gushing out of the taps as it takes ages and when it gets there, it trickles out, so if you have long thick hair like mine - you will not be washing it!! the rooms are extremely hot, even with the windows open, so the hotel very kindly loaned us a fan for both of the rooms we had hired. that made life and sleep more bearable. the breakfast staff need a word or two in customer service and etiquette. they were quite rude and stand offish - quite a let down from the reception staff that were always most accommodating and helpful.

Following a request for us to move to another hotel in a different area this was quickly resolved by Thistle Hyde Park and we enjoyed our stay with our friends,rooms all next to each other overlooking Hyde Park,excellent.

We had a 2 night stay. Breakfast is great. Our double room had to be exchanged due to the noise coming from Hotel fan / machinery. We were given a better looking room & more quiet room. Small note - the shower unit leaked & the toilet infrequently flushed. Worth a stay if you can get an offer price.

Small hotel, clean, well proportioned. Great location, on central line and opposite Kensington Park. We had a room at the top of the hotel and it looked as though we were starting out onto a wood. The only downside was the plumbing, which was old country house standard. Pressure was poor but it is in an old building. We had supper there the first night and it was very good. The bar was open until late and the barmen were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Although room was well equipped and the fan was a bonus we found the bathroom very tired and in desperate need of updating. Sadly although the bar and restaurant looked very nice the dinner menu let it down and we mistook it for a bar snack menu. However the hotel location was excellent.

Clean warm cosy spacious room. (Twin double) Amazing buffe breakfast with views over Hyde Park. Friendly staff. Only minus the safety box didnt work.

Mini bar empty other than water, tea and coffee facilities disappointing in room. Hearing supplied by 2 plug in electric heaters. Room lovely and spacious and bed comfy. Hotel great location.

Thourghly enjoyed our 3 night stay lovely room on the 4th floor. One problem was the scaffolding outside but once the work has been completed hopefully the building would be back to pristine condition

Overall hotel was lovely. There was some work being done on the front so didn`t have the wow factor but we had 6 rooms for a hen night and each was lovely and comfy!! Breakfast needed to be a bit quicker as it run out quite a lot so maybe not worth £12 but very convenient with a 12pm check out!! Hotel staff were so helpful and friendly you couldn`t ask for more! We were one very happy hen party :-)

We had a very pleasant stay at the Tihistle, Hyde Park. Staff were very accommodating although breakfast service was rather slow. I would also suggest that if you wish to book a taxi do not forget to confirm with the driver the destination, as our party did. A receptionist booked ours and gave the wrong address completely. It was only due to the fact that a member of our party knows his way around London and questioned the taxi driver 45 minutes into the journey that we realised the mistake. The receptionist had only got the word `Black` correct in her booking the destination address, thus sending us in the wrong direction completely. We got out at the Elephant and Castle tube station to make our way back to Walthamstow where the car was parked, thus adding an hour on to our journey. To say we were not happy is an understatement.

Mostly great but Sunday breakfast was rather chaotic and the maid service was rather keen - she knocked and entered our room at 7.50am on the day we left - we were still in bed!There seemed to be a mix up about our room when we checked in and we had to wait in the lobby until 2.30pm until our room was ready. Having said all that the overall service was great,the hotel of a good standard and in a lovely position - I would stay with you again.
