The staff were all genuinely friendly and engaging. The rooms were clean and practicle with all that is needed for a short break. very close proximety to the Metro and train.
I`m not sure how prevalent the problem is, but my specific room had bedbugs. Although the hotel seemed very nice, I came home with bug bites all over my body. The sheets for the bed were never changed during my stay, and when asked for new sheets because of the problem, the late-night porter was of no help.
The hotel was near to the station but the rooms seems a little dodggy even though the hotel was safe it portrays a different picture. There should be water jugs in each room. in our room there was no drinking water available and we were told to come and take water in a cup from the reception? which we did not appreciate.
hotel was clean and adequate for the cost if you are in the annex part of the hotel without the manned reception desk security to access the building is lax as you do not need the key to enter from the street into the hotel as advised by hotel reception area surounding the hotel is basic although only 2 mins to metro
Convenient hotel for Eurostar travellers.
A well placed hotel for the Gare de Nord - on an interesting street. The hotel end with lots of indian shops. We had a great vegetarian meal in a vegetarian restaurant on the same side The room whilst lacking in space had a safe, hair drier and a big tele. It was warm. The street the hotel was on is vibrant and interesting with tons of indian shops . On the same side of the road as the hotel just before it reaches rue dunkerque we had a great meal in a vegetarian restaurant . Then if you carry on down Rue Fouberg St Dennis there are a variety of interesting shops and restaurants, we had alovely meal at Julien - not cheap, but the decor is amazing. This is a good area to get anywhere in Paris with ease
i stay in this hotel with my husband 2 nights, the room it`s small but fine for the person which want to visit the city.It is in a good area, close to the underground station ``la chapelle``,and from here you can go easy everywhere...the heating was working which is very good because the temperature outside was -7,bathroom not clean properly.
Hotel small and compact. Trendy modern style. Bedroom small but well fitted and comfortable. Surrounded by Asian shops and takeaways, it is not what many will expect in Paris but Gare du Nord and Metro are 10 mins walk and there are several French style brasseries and a good fish restaurant there.
I was happy with my stay.
Good value for the money
I arrived to find two guests talking to a receptionist about having their room broken into. The receptionist seemed unperturbed - a card had been used to enter the room. He was directing them to the police. I checked in reluctantly. I was directed to the sixth floor - there are no room labels so I used the wrong lift; returned to the ground floor and was directed by another male receptionist who asked me to call him in the night if I needed anything. I arrived at the room to find no internal lock - so felt far too unsafe to stay. I told the receptionist I was leaving because I felt unsafe: he seemed very unbothered and made no effort to help me find anywhere else/get a taxi etc. I would suggest you avoid this hotel. I am going to get my money back.
Although the hotel is in a very run down area of Paris and unclassified, the cleanliness is first class and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a good position for the Metro and getting around Paris
Rather cramped but reasonably clean. Right in little Tamil Nadu. The Ganesh festival was fascinating and the South Indian cooking was great in one vegetaraian restaurant.
Room small, but adequate and very clean. Easy access to transport
After a difficult journey we arrived at 2 am - no problem. Very grateful.
only complaint 2 of our rooms had broken air con,
Nice hotel, but strange that some rooms are in 1 building whilst the rest are in another. Basic room but clean and tidy.
It was clear that my reservation had been forgotten and that hotel was full.I was given a superior cupboard just off reception. It had no phone,no coathangers, smelled of drains and above all was LOUD:a TV set 5 metres away ,banging doors and conversation all made sleep impossible.Of course my 2nd night`s room was better so I do not accept that the first room was your usual, thus I will be happy to be refunded the first night`s accommodation.
Had to wait for room to be prepared even though arrived after 3.15pm. Told to wait but not informed when it was ready, had to go and ask, then told you could have gone to the room anyway. Room & bathroom clean and tidy each day. Electricity failed on appliances on ground floor, no toast or coffee one day.
3*, yeah ok! Although the rooms were nicely decorated, you do have to climb over the toilet to get to the bath!!! The rooms were miniscule! With Walls so thin that you can hear everything coming from anywhere in the hotel. will not be staying again!
We did not enjoy the location of this hotel at all. Although close to the metro and Gare du Nord the street the hotel is situation on is surrounded by Indian shops and markets and walking down the street was not a pleasant experience. You certainly did not feel like you were in Paris until you moved away from the area. The hotel itself has a shabby staircase and the rooms and abosolutely minute. The photos on the websites have been taken with very good camera angles. Our double room had no space to walk around two sides of the bed and the toilet was almost impossible to get to because the bathroom was so cramped. Luckily we only stayed one night.
iwouldnt recommend it to anyone as the hotel is a 3 star but look like a 1star hotel and is situated in the wrong area, kinda like market cheap area, the hower is soo rubbish basically wen u shower the water fall on the toilet sit realy poor design wil neva go back out there anymore.
Hotel wsa small but adequate hard to find no actual sign for it. Located in a very asian community so area smells of curry at night, not good if you wan to open your windows at night. The doors do not have an internal lock, so i moved the table over it when i went to sleep. Overall it was ok but not for first timers to Paris.
Room was perfectly adequate but the district the hotel is in is very asian, on the first night our air conditioning was broken and so we had to have the windows open meaning the room smelt of curry! The view from our room was terrible; some grimy back yard with mould, cigarette butts and grafitti but the rooms looking out towards the street were lovely.
i think they need to work out more on room services andd room r very noisy and breakfast was nice thanks
Hotel was clean and modern. Beds very comfy. Room small but functional. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget. Area wasn`t great but fine as a base (near the Gare du Nord). Receptionist helpful and spoke english.
this is a nice hotel except the scary noise in the early morning, so i hope ,maybe the cleaners work too hard! in general it is a quite good choice for paris because is really near the big station!
Fair for the price and ease of location for travelling around, quiet in the annexe. Wish there was a kettle and tea/coffee in rooms
The hotel was clean and nice, however on our first afternoon after checking into the room we tried to have a nap but were disturbed 3 times by staff knocking on our door and entering our room. We were a little confused as to why they needed to get into our room just after we had checked in at 2pm. We were also missing a door handle to our bathroom, meaning it blew in the wind a lot, and it closed once when we could not open it. Other than this, it was a nice stay, and the staff were very helpful.
OVERALL GOOD BUT ROOM A LITTLE SMALL THOUGH ALL FACILITIES WERE THERE
The hotel is very convenient for Eurostar at Garre de Nord, within walking distance, although through a poor, dirty area of Paris. The hotel seems to be going through a good refurbishment and will be better for it when finished, with the room clean and adequate for sight seeing in Paris and the staff pleasant. The breakfast room is very small and cramped in the basement, with self service continental breakfast. Reasonable value due to area but good base for metro to visit the best parts of Paris. We enjoyed the experience.
Good accommodation for the price. Lift only holds 2 persons. Bottled water not available on request, they purchased it from outside source while we waited. But overall we were pleased.
We would like to thank the staff at Hotel Faubourg that made our stay extra special. The room was sufficient for what we needed for the weekend and in such a great location to get to the sites quick. Thank you again. When we needed help on the last day and already booked out, staff were very helpful and friendly and we appreciate your hospitality. We will defenitely recommend you to friends!
