Its a great hotel with very nice staff bathroom very clean nice comfy bed the location is very convinient close to the train station metro and city centre. Overall good value for money .
Good value hotel, but rooms were basic. Good Metro access, but a little too far out of the tourist area.
A little misleading from photo. Tiny but manageable. Lobby needs some updating. Limited Internet but nice place. Doubtful I`d stay there again. Only if desperate. On up side it is very close to trains and guard de nord. Nice breakfast and hotel staff. The staff need uniform to look more professional.
The hotel was great and had a lovely manager who was very helpful and always on hand for any Parisian advice or recommendations in the local area. He went beyond what was expected of him to make our stay in Paris brilliant. We were sad to leave but will definately be returning in the near future. Very relaxed atmosphere and staff.
Close to La Chappelle metro, it is cleaned regularly ie every day, compact, however the hotel does everything you would expect, en suite, tv, comfy bed, modern decor. wOULD CONSIDER AGAIN. Mike
We were both a little nervous about our stay at the Hotel Faubourg having read some of the reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom was a good size and we got clean towels every day, Not once did we feel that we weren`t completely safe in the area that the hotel was in and we just enjoyed the very good location. Being so close to the metro and Gare du Nord was a god send. For a comfortable bed and a great location I would definitely recommend the Hotel Faubourg.
V. Close to Metro and Euro Star, breakfast satisfactory. Negative point the landing stairs carpet had strong foisty smell, room are not big but suitable. House keeping and staff are very good.
No frills, tiny rooms but clean and comfortable.
On arriving after a long journey we were placed in their other hotel next door, which is of a poor standard and requires upgrading. After complaining we were transfered into the main hotel which has been refurbished but still old features carpets, lifts etc. Problems leaving early in the morning as receptionist was in the cellar making cakes for breakfast and the main door was locked and we were unable to leave without finding him. This is not the star rating given and we suggest that someone grades these hotels by visiting.
The room we stayed in was rather poky. Turning round in the shower meant turning the taps off with your backside, and bending down to pick up anything off the floor was a gymnastic feat. 2`6 beds provided - comfortable, but narrow. Very limited storage space - no drawers. The cellar where breakfast is served is nice, except again that it is crammed with tables. I sat with my back more or less on the fire extinguisher. They seemed to be having problems keeping the food / juice / knives stocked up. The Wifi signal that is strong enough to reach the 4th floor did not get beyond "assigning IP address" . The one that did work was "out of range".The plug in our bathroom did not hold the water in the basin.
the advertised free wifi didn`t work up on the 6th floor where I was so I had to email in the foyer.
The hotel is situated on a main road, which is in a rougher district than we thought. The hotel has been refurbished and the rooms are decorated OK. However, our double room was small, with the bed against one wall of the room. The bathroom also on small size, but did have a good shower. We were on the 6th floor and the hotel only has a lift that takes 2 persons at a time, which can be a problem for a family.Would recommend the hotel if you only require room to sleep and not spend any of the day in the room, as we had only a small window, which overlooked back of hotel. However, the metro station was very near.
Hotel was FAB, good room, reception very nice, internet "HIFI", Although some night shouting around, but worth living there. Fresh Food, easy metro (train) i like it and will go with family if get chance
For the price, this hotel was as expected. A generally clean room (carpet didn`t appear to be hoovered even once while we were there) A good location, 2mins walk from a metro station, and 5mins walk from the larger Gare du nord. Hotel signage is rather low key-resulting in myself and my friend completely walking past it. A good hotel for a base for exploring Paris.
Pleasant reception, friendly staff. Room fine, very quiet where we were, beds comfy, bedding good, limited storage space, very nice bathroom. staff friendly. Slimmist lift I`ve ever seen.Area not too great, but felt safe enough.
hotel is ok, but some cleanersis nosy. If on the door DO NOT DISTURB, for cleaners its nothing!!!! And coffe machine is awful!!!! Location is indian area.......
We found the initial entrance a bit confusing after a long train journey. Not helped by an attempt to steal my wife`s purse by intruders from the street in the hotel entyrance. We found the accomodation warm and comfortable and clean. The corridors and stairs are narrow and dingy but we would come again.
For the price it is adequate - small but reasonably decorated rooms/good showers/clean on the whole. Many guests were young people and so quite noisy at night. Very decent breakfast.
take no notice in other reviews, we found this a very nice hotel, staff very friendly, give you the time of day not like other locals! yes ther are indian shops on strip but they dont bother you, just running a shop ther!! thanxalot 4 great stay faubourg!!!!
The staff were all genuinely friendly and engaging. The rooms were clean and practicle with all that is needed for a short break. very close proximety to the Metro and train.
I`m not sure how prevalent the problem is, but my specific room had bedbugs. Although the hotel seemed very nice, I came home with bug bites all over my body. The sheets for the bed were never changed during my stay, and when asked for new sheets because of the problem, the late-night porter was of no help.
The hotel was near to the station but the rooms seems a little dodggy even though the hotel was safe it portrays a different picture. There should be water jugs in each room. in our room there was no drinking water available and we were told to come and take water in a cup from the reception? which we did not appreciate.
hotel was clean and adequate for the cost if you are in the annex part of the hotel without the manned reception desk security to access the building is lax as you do not need the key to enter from the street into the hotel as advised by hotel receptionarea surounding the hotel is basic although only 2 mins to metro
Convenient hotel for Eurostar travellers.
A well placed hotel for the Gare de Nord - on an interesting street. The hotel end with lots of indian shops. We had a great vegetarian meal in a vegetarian restaurant on the same side The room whilst lacking in space had a safe, hair drier and a big tele. It was warm. The street the hotel was on is vibrant and interesting with tons of indian shops . On the same side of the road as the hotel just before it reaches rue dunkerque we had a great meal in a vegetarian restaurant . Then if you carry on down Rue Fouberg St Dennis there are a variety of interesting shops and restaurants, we had alovely meal at Julien - not cheap, but the decor is amazing. This is a good area to get anywhere in Paris with ease
i stay in this hotel with my husband 2 nights, the room it`s small but fine for the person which want to visit the city.It is in a good area, close to the underground station ``la chapelle``,and from here you can go easy everywhere...the heating was working which is very good because the temperature outside was -7,bathroom not clean properly.
Hotel small and compact. Trendy modern style. Bedroom small but well fitted and comfortable. Surrounded by Asian shops and takeaways, it is not what many will expect in Paris but Gare du Nord and Metro are 10 mins walk and there are several French style brasseries and a good fish restaurant there.
I was happy with my stay.
Good value for the money
Although the hotel is in a very run down area of Paris and unclassified, the cleanliness is first class and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a good position for the Metro and getting around Paris
Rather cramped but reasonably clean. Right in little Tamil Nadu. The Ganesh festival was fascinating and the South Indian cooking was great in one vegetaraian restaurant.
Room small, but adequate and very clean. Easy access to transport
After a difficult journey we arrived at 2 am - no problem. Very grateful.
only complaint 2 of our rooms had broken air con,
