Stayed at the Thistle Barcican before, although we had a problem with the air conditioning unit in our room making some random noises stopping us sleeping, once reported to reception we changed rooms, which was not great after midnight but was compensated with a complimentary breakfast. However, I did have to insist on this as nothing was offered which was a somewhat disappointing.

Too far away from the theatre. Didn`t realise it was such a walk from Old St underground. We actually booked this hotel because it included breakfast but was told when booking in it was room only so ended up paying for breakfast too.

They need to soundproof the rooms. If you`re a light sleeper don`t stay here. I don`t enjoy listening to the room next door having sex.

Excellent stay and were pleasantly surprised by my hubbys surprise bottle of Prosecco for his birthday! Very clean hote and friendly staff thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The deluxe room was not so deluxe, it was nice but to hot all night, no controls to turn it down also the TV sound was awful needs replacing. Replay bar was good but slow service

Hotel was reasonable in price and cleanliness, we did have a small glitch with our bookings as during check in we discovered that our two rooms were in different buildings. We expressed disappointment in the room situation as it meant our daughter would be alone in a room in a different building from us. This was not explained to us when booking the theatre package. we asked if she could be relocated into the same building as us, we were told the hotel was fully booked. On asking to speak to a manager, explaining the fear of her being on her own, the check in assistant came back and said her manager had authorized a free upgrade to a double room on the same floor as us in the same building. This was a generous offer on the hotels behalf. My concern would be that people with young teenagers could find themselves in the same situation. The hotel should make people aware of this when booking are made, this would give people time to cancel and look for another hotel

Comfortable stay and an added extra that you can use the spa at no extra cost.

Very pleasant staff and impressive decor. The Barbican Cafe opposite the hotel was particularly good and fantastic value.

The walls are ridiculously thin so you hear everything!!

I stayed for one night at Thiste Barbican and could not sleep until 3am because of noise next door. Rooms are not sound proof and it was cold in early morning. I will not stay in future.

Everything about our stay was excellent

Great stay, this was our first time in London and found the hotel was in a good location for the nightlife of Shoreditch, a 10 min walk to the underground station was great for sightseeing. Staff were friendly and were great for answering any questions we had. Sadly didn`t get time for using the pool facilities as London had so much to offer!! Great stay in London :)

Tidy as always with friendly service. Disappointing the sauna and steam room were out of order though.

Rooms need a bit of tlc but beds where comfortable and slept well.had a meal before show the food was great but took a long time to come. Did complain and it was dealt with fine.reception staff where slow in dealing with customers eg knew you were there but turn around to tidy up the back first before dealing with you. Lift was out off order and had to carry case down the stairs did complain staff just said sorry but could of been inforned beforhand.

Very good hotel with good rooms and everything you need, and a great breakfast.

Faulty lift, faulty sauna, faulty steam room, No maps for guests. Room was clean and staff were fantastic.

Room decor tired. Toilet plumbing abysmal. Food very mediocre. Most staff great but some...reception..need to be more informed about London with regards transport. Not a great location.

Staff very accommodating made us feel very special . When I told them it`s a special birthday trip they left chocolates and champagne as a gift in the room. Would highly recommend .?

The staff at the AMBA were very helpful and the hotel was great but did miss the SPA at the other hotel.

Clean but dated accommadation

Arrived at the hotel midday after travelling down by train that morning. At Euston we jumped the bus a few stops to the hotel. We didn`t have Oyster cards, not used to public transport, able to use our contactless, one card per person though. The hotel was very typical of a Thistle. Arranged for breakfast as not included in the package, was only £10 a head if booked on check in £12 in the morning, had everything we needed. Made use of the pool and steam room before getting ready. Had dinner in the bar, 3 course for £20, good value, delicious. They only had Heineken on draught and the bottled beers seemed expensive. Jumped an Uber to and from the Westend as the Hotel was more in the East only about £13 each way. Back at the hotel woke up refreshed, slept well and went down to breakfast, wide choice and good quality.
