We had a family room on the 7th floor. The room was very spacious with two double beds for me my husband and two teenage girls. It was nicely decorated with a safe for valuables and good tea/coffee facilities. There was also a fridge with complementary soft drinks and water and extra milk. The beds were very uncomfortable with very flat pillows so we didn`t get a very good nights sleep. The bathroom could do with a refurbishment, shower not very good and toilet seat was loose.
The Hyde Park Corus upgraded us to Executive Double due to my wife`s birthday
Lovely hotel and helpful staff. Room was small but adequate and clean. Sadly our floor was being decorated when we arrived so the room smelled strongly of paint. As we didn`t spend much time in there it didn`t spoil our stay. Would book again but wouldn`t pay full price due to small size of room.
Bath very deep and raised off the ground so awkward getting in/out. I slipped and grazed ankle. Some of the coat hangers won`t take the weight of clothes.
A very warm welcome on arrival and that remained throughout our stay. Very clean rooms and a very relaxing foyer. Very pleasant indeed.
Maintenance works on our floor spoiled the general look of the hotel, the view was not what I had hoped for. Breakfast was good and staff were polite. Room was smaller than anticipated but bed was comfortable and room Was clean. Not a bad nights stay.
Restaurant was lovely Bed in the double was a too small, seemed smaller than a normal double which made for a difficult night sleep. Would stay with the hotel again providing I could guarantee a larger bed (if even available)
Did not get any sleep, some sort of water storage or air con unit in our room which made noises all night.
We booked and stayed in a double room. The room is that small you can only get out of one side of the bed! The bathroom is also very small, when you turn the water on in the sink, the water splashes you and the floor due to the side of the tiny basin. The use of mirrors is not successful in giving the illusion of more space. It was fine as we were only staying for one night but I would not return or would not have stayed in these rooms should I have been staying for longer. The website does not show the rooms that we stayed in and they seem to be the majority so should be advertised as so. They have cramped too many rooms into a small space.
Very helpful staff. Great choice of freshly cooked, hot food for breakfast. Very comfortable rooms. Perfect base for sightseeing in London.
The hotel`s location was excellent to access Hyde Park and other nearby attractions. The staff were pleasant and efficient at all times and I`m sure that the facade of the hotel will look superb when it`s complete. A member of staff was also able to give me a history of the hotel. Being able to get a sandwich in the Bistro when we arrived back from our night out at around 11pm would have been good but the very nice lady on reception was able to point us in the direction of a very nice Italian restaurant nearby. We`d definitely stay at the Corus again as well as recommend it to friends.
The hotel was surrounded with scaffolding and notices of apology were dotted around but we would have liked to have been informed of this disruption beforehand. Workmen were looking in through the window from 8.00 am. Lovely hotel though and very nice staff.
Lovely big room and we were able to leave our suitcase at the hotel after checking out so we could spend the day in Oxford Street. Very convenient location right next to Hyde Park and close to the tube station.
Clean, with comfortable bed, two most important requirements for us. Everything we wanted was in the room. Staff were pleasant and helpful, reception area very nice and welcoming. We loved the location being so close to Hyde Park, with a tube station nearby and Paddington Station within walking distance. The girls in Hotel Booking were really kind and helpful. Excellent service all round and hoping to see you all again in the near future!
Nice clean hotel with everything you need for ur stay eg hair dryer, iron,WiFi, tv all in ur room
Firstly we would return, so that gives perspective to our review (I hope). Plus points: location is excellent, right on top of Kensington palace gardens/ Hyde park. Next to Lancaster Gate tube. Real pub next door (food and drink much cheaper than hotel). Hotel is very clean. Staff are helpful. Breakfast is high quality. Spacious room (executive double). Safe in room. Not so good points: Bathrooms need modernising (impractical counter, sink, taps) & Shower very weak. Bar really expensive. No pool or such facilities. We didn`t find the bed comfy (way too soft & roll into the middle). Lifts were a nightmare (too slow and stop at every floor once called even if another lift had been used for the previous call).
5*cleanliness, 5*comfort, 5*heating/air conditioning, 5*room facilities Would definately book again if we return to London in the future.
I read reviews prior to booking and am disappointed I was somewhat mislead. The hotel was noisy and staff were very rude, particularly at reception. I would not book again, not would I recommend unfortunately. I`ve been to many hotels in London at comparable prices and had much better overall experiences... On top of that I was gauged by making a necessary 800 call to my credit card company in Canada to verify purchasing this very hotel and was charged £36, which is almost $80 cdn. How ironic. Very upset.
Only thing I found was the cooked breakfast , , I found was cold bacon , mushrooms etc even under hot plates self service . Not the hottest I have had in a hotel and when I was eating it it was very cold .
We booked a four star double. We were given a double bed pushed up to a wall. Across the end of the bed was a table so it would have been impossible for the person against the wall to get up in the night without disturbing the other. When we complained we were given an upgrade to a different room. The point is we should not have found it necessary to complain for what should have been a four-star service in the beginning.
Stayed for one night having booked some months ago.E mail confirmation received two days before I travelled. Arrived at hotel at about 4 p m. Receptionist a little hesitant but quite friendly. The room was spacious, the bathroom a little small but had all the amenities required with shampoo and shower gel provided together with tea and coffee in the room. Bed very comfortable and I had a good sleep. Concierge checked to see if everything was satisfactory which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. Plenty of choice for breakfast both continental and English. Could not fault the English breakfast I had. Check out was great and I was shown to the taxi taking me back to Paddington station by one of the staff. Would definitely stay at this hotel again which for the service room and facilities I had was for London I felt not overpriced.
Hotel in good location by Lancaster gate tube station on central line. Staff all friendly and helpfull , clean and tidy , our room could have done with a bit of updating but for the Money it was fine £100 more would have got us fresh paint etc elsewhere. Good buffet breakfast.
Pleasant staff, nice room, good location. It would have been a bonus if the restaurant staff knew what was off the menu instead of ordering and then being told it wasnt available. Also for 4 people two had their meals served first and the other two waited 10 minutes for their meal. Not good.
Executive family room was very good. The breakfast was a bit chaotic but Al in all a pleasant stay.
Well located hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Good atmosphere .
Very nice hotel thought it was abit expensive for what you got. We ordered 2 pizzas one portion chips and four drinks (3of them soft) and it came to £53??
Would not return here - was charged on arrival even though I had pre-paid the break three months beforehand, were given a room literally next to the lift shafts so very noisy, family room had double bed but just a chair converted to a camp bed for my son (14), room was tatty and radiators noisy when water came on in the morning. Also staff at reception were characterless and without empathy.
Excellent service in all aspects eg room, checking in and out, breakfast. Very pleased and would book again.
Room too small with no drawers quality of beds in room 731 poor also T V comes on in middle of night staff very helpful and breakfast lovely but for the price we paid I wasn`t happy with our stay
Queue to check as computers were down and very cramped shower due to head restrictions but otherwise clean and comfortable.
