tiny tiny room. The traffic noise was unrelenting - ear plugs were necessary.
Easy to find and convenient for central London. Food good. Bedroom at least satisfactory but on the small side (and small bathroom) for a double. I stayed alone for two nights but it would have seemed a little small with two residents I think.
late night fire alarm evacuated on to street with no instruction to what happened or why. no children`s menu despite being told there was one. attemped charge for bottle of wine we did not have, confusion about how many rooms we had booked on out account. roo very comfortable, good location...
Hi I would like to point out that on the whole the hotel was ok, bathroom was a bit small, and that in the bedroom if you wanted to have a window open we would have needed to ask someone from the concierge team to come and do it for us, whis a bit strange, something to do with health and safty issues !! As the for arrangement of getting breakfast, this was nothing short of a disgrace, we went down for breakfast at 09-15 only to be told that we had been put on a waiting list to be called for it, 25 mins later our ticket was called and we could go down to eat, where by which time they had to be asked to bring out more eegs, and to get some hot water to make either tea or coffee, I found this to be a complete joke, I have stayed in many 4 star hotels and never have had to go through this process , somemthing needs to change there as there was many guests complaining about this, and to think with breakfast it cost nearly £200 per night !!! I shall not be returning !!!
Really liked the position and the staff were friendly, but service for breakfast was disorganised at the weekend, and the staff seemed to find it difficult to juggle serving both bar snacks and meals on Sunday night.
Great hotel, off lanceaster gate tube...very central. Rooms clean and cosy with all the essentials that you need.Slightly disappointed that I called on the Friday before our visit to ensure the two rooms booked, were together. However when we checked in they were down the corridor from each other....and as the phones wouldn`t connect to other rooms, we ended up running up and down the corridor which was a bit frustrating. However I would use again!!!
We booked a double room as it was our 1st Anniversary. When we opened the door , my husband and I were very dissappointed. It was a VERY small box room, very clinical. The room I would think was for a business person who stopped over night. THANKFULLY having spoken to the receptionist we had a free upgrade. To be honest I would have sooner got the train home to Shoreham-By-Sea than stay in the original room they gave us. Yes, it was very clean, but not a room you would want to spend any relaxing time in (as a couple). The hotel itself is excellant. Would most definately recommend it. Good location, good breakfast and very clean, modern and friendly.
only average for the price.fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we spent half hour out in the road,no hotel staff were seen, no appology.breakfast no choice of breads poor overall.
If you are booking for a short stay as we did, then you may want to be wary of the stated check in time, we were only in London for a 24hr trip so chose a hotel that advertised a 2pm check in, it was gone 5pm before we finally got the room which meant we were then forced to eat in the hotel instead of our original plans as we would not have had time to get to the show we had booked by the time we were able to get into the room and change etc. Reception staff are polite but do tend to put quieter guests to one side to deal with the rather more `voiceful` rude guests which is a shame but hey thats life !
Excellant value for money. Hotel very clean and staff very helpful.Reception on arrival excellant.
I have stayed at this hotel several times. It is quite convenient to Paddington ( 10-15 mins walk) and very close to the Tube at Lancaster Gate, though it serves only the Central line. It is right beside Hyde Park. The staff are efficient and friendly. The restaurant is good. The rooms are small;I recommend couples settle for the roomier, but more costly, executive rooms. Value for money is reasonably good,by central London standards. I would recommend the hotel for both business and holiday stays.
Excellent hotel if you are going to the theatre or on a shopping spree.Very close to Oxford Street. For London it is very reasonably priced. The room we had was quite small but very clean.Breakfast was very good and a good choiceavailable.Would stay there again.
Room was larger than previously, small rooms never bothered me as everything there but was nice to have a bit more space. Breakfast was still really good and thought staff were friendlier this time. Rooms cleaned to high spec daily and really like it when hotels give you a proper mug and plent of tea and milk to have a proper drink in the room. Will book again next year.
Standard rooms nicely decorated and very clean although not large by any means. Ensuite very small and bath set very high difficult to get in and out of although I am 5`10". Three quarter size door to enter ensuite and sink was built in on side of the bath. access to the bath was exceptionally dificult- shower was over the bath so no alternative.. Hotel was nicely positioned as opposite park, and short walk to tube station.
Although the hotel was comfy and the staff friendly and helpful we found the double rooms were too small and the bathroom was very small. Taking a shower was hard work as there was no room to move. We thought our rooms could have done with more lights. Overall the rooms we had should of been classed a single room not a double.
Second time staying at Corus Hyde Park, staying in a triple room, third bed was a fold up, not ideal but sufficed for a couple of nights. Room was clean and towels changed every day.Room only basis so not able to comment on the food. The hotel is in a great location next to Lancaster Gate tube station.Would stay here again.Staff friendly and efficient, room was ready when we checked in at 11.45 am.
GOOD CLEAN ROOMS GOOD SERVICE AND FRIENDLY STAFFVERY GOOD BREAKFAST FACILITIESIDEALLY LOCATED FOR CITY CENTRE/ ATTRACTIONS
Corus Hyde was a great choice for location. Lancaster Gate tube station is a few minutes away and there is a bus stop round the corner. Hyde Park is directly across the road. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and breakfast was fine. We will use this hotel again.
Small room but very clean with everything you need for an overnight stay. Just a 20 min walk from Oxford Street. Friendly staff.
Stayed over night, was pleasantly surprised by such polite and friendly staff. The hotel was clean and was well maintained. We had booked a family room, which was upgraded free of charge to an executive room, which was roomy and very comfortable. The concierge were very helpful. Can`t say one bad word.....enjoyed our stay and will use the hotel again.
This was our second stay at this Hotel and both times have been enjoyable. This last visit we were treated to a free upgrade to an executive bedroom overlooking the park. The rooms are well kept and very clean and the breakfasts are second to none. Staff are very polite and helpful. It is lovely to be able to just cross the road and walk through Hyde Park. Very Recommended.
The position of this hotel is excellent, so close to Metro and of course Hyde Park, and you can walk to so many attractions. I was quite disappointed with the small size of the room, but apart from that everything was excellent, including staff, breakfast and general facilities.
No complaints at all. If you are looking for a base from which to explore London and somewhere to lay your head after a tiring dat sightseeing this hotel will fit the bill at a very reasonable cost. The rooms were clean and all staff very helpful.
Enjoyed my stay at the Corus and woyld be more than happy to return again. The included breakfast was very much appreciated. excellent service and staff.
It was a great location and we were pleased to be able to check in so early. What I wasn`t happy about was that I booked a Triple room which would indicate three beds normally. This is the reason I booked the room. It was only a double and a single. The room was also very hot - air con didnt seem to work. The desk staff didn`t seem very friendly. But otherwise it served its purpose for our one night stay.
Small bedroom I could live with but the bath/shower was awful. I`m 6`2 and could not stand up straight in the shower, it was a health hazard. Any tall or large people avoid this hotel.
We found the room fine (was superior room) just a min walk from Lancaster Gate Tube - lovely to walk in Hyde Park - very good breakfast and helpful staff - would stay again
Well positioned hotel to enable you to travel around London at your leisure. Although the rooms were a little small they were clean and well kept however the shower was very claustrophobic with the wall at head height coming from the wall (room 532). The Staff were very polite and helpful at all times and breakfast was well organised. All in all a fabulous stay for someone who has not been to London for over 20 years. Thank you.
