Loved the room, location and staff very helpful. Thank you.
Next to Hyde Park and Public Transportation. Clean and roomy room with nice bathroom. Nice restaurant and lounge A good place to stay!
Shame we only stayed , one night , the Hotel is in a lovely position, facing Hyde Park, it`s a very worthy 4 star Hotel , staff were very helpful , look forward to going back soon.
Couldn`t really fault the hotel and breakfast, bed and room were all great. Only issue is that the room was too hot and air con did not help. They need to fix this.
The hotel looked tired inside, our room was in need of a refurbishment. However, staff were efficient and friendly.
Excellent hotel and vey spacious , staff excellent , breakfast is the best I`ve ever had absolutely brilliant choices , bar staff great . Hotel`s location really is great for royal albert hall with a straight walk across hyde park and straight there, and very near tube station. Would come back.
Stayed for 3 nights in a twin bedded room - most spacious room we`ve stayed in in this price range & this area. Well furnished with good bathroom which actually had a bath & shower - plenty of hot water & good thick towels. Convenient location for us as less than 10 minutes walk from Paddington station & only 20 minutes across Hyde Park to the RAH, V&A , science museum & Natural History museum. Bus stop just outside with frequent service into town & Lancaster Gate tube also close by. All staff (reception, dining room & housekeeping) were friendly & helpful. Good choice for breakfast of hot & cold options. Lighting was particularly good - good bedside lights for reading & all controls by the bed. Beautiful basins in the ladies on the ground floor! Only niggle was, in common with a lot of hotels, a notice is posted regarding reusing towels & the environment, & though guests comply the towels are whisked away regardless.
Warm welcome, great staff, super breakfast and an ideal location. The room was super
Quiet hotel-comfortable room-staff friendly-breakfast and lunch fine-so near to the park-good transport
The hotel was lovely, the food was excellent, the staff were very pleasant. My only issue was my room had the most ENORMOUS mirror and a double bed that was squashed in a corner. The room was at the rear of hotel which was fine for a one night stop apart from when the lights were out and all was still there was a dreadful humming of a extractor fan or something similar, so not the best nights sleep. Avoid room 218
Very good all round. Room needed a few minor touch ups but this was a small point. If we needed the same location we would certainley stop there again.
Very nice hotel and rooms with excellent staff and a great location for exploring central London.
Lovely hotel in a good situation. Average uninspiring but filling breakfast. Well presented, clean and warm, staff polite and helpful. Maintenance needed on very noisy A/C unit in bedroom causing sleep disturbance in an otherwise comfortable room. The A/C in the breakfast area was making the same noise! Would visit hotel again.
All staff very welcoming ,friendly and professional.Room clean and comfortable with a view of Hyde Park.Food perfect.Good location. We will definitely use this hotel again.
Great staff, wonderful location, beautiful room, great value for money
In a prime location, opposite Hyde Park, underground stations within 500 yards in each direction. Bus stops outside and opposite front of hotel on Bayswater Road to take you to and from central London. Hotel is very smart and clean. Rooms quite large, overlooking Hyde Park. Comfy beds with extra pillows available. All mod cons. No complaints at all.
My husband and I stayed for two nights in February 2015. Lovely hotel, very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were delicious and the location right opposite Hyde Park was perfect. Lancaster Gate tube station is a five minute walk meaning commuting into London to see the sights was so easy. Next time we`re in London, we will definitely be back
Nice traditional hotel - clean and well run, if a little tired in places, with friendly and helpful staff. Our bathroom could have used a visit from the maintenance man and a few licks of paint in the dining area and public spaces would go amiss. Good breakfast, comfortable and very easily accessed. Perfectly situated 300m from Lancaster Gate tube and ideal for Central London - all in all a good stay and we would definitely return
One tiny whinge, I could not connect to the WIFI at all. Hotel was lovely, loved the decor & breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.
On arrival, we were intending to leave our bags as it was before the check in time. However, we were able to check in early and the suite we were given was delightful. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We would certainly stay there again. The hotel has a fantastic location right next to hyde park.
I`ve stayed at this hotel several times and the staff here are amazing. I left my theatre tickets at home and hotel direct were do helpful emailing me them, then the hotel printed it all out for me. If I had one tiny negative it would be that the bathrooms really do need updating, but all in all we had a fantastic time, thank you!
Very good friendly check in, bedroom small, bathroom tired & toilet roll holder fell apart on use.... in the bedroom there was no side table & very narrow.. hence one of us being squashed against the wall in the bed... breakfast service very nice & overall a good experience,, but bedroom let`s them down..
Stayed for one night, nice hotel, room ok but a little dated, breakfast was included which Was a bonus, would defently stay again.
a very good hotel in a very convenient position. Good sized rooms, well furnished. Nice bar and restaurant. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay here again !
Cold rooms, en-suite in need of a serious upgrade! Mould around bath, gaps in sealant! Toilet didn`t flush properly. Windows let a force ten gale in. But... Beds comfy!
fine except bathroom a little distressed, toilet didn`t flush easliy
Our room was nice and we were given a pleasant upgrade. Although the room was nice the bathroom needs refurbishment, teh fittings were old and had lost most of the metal colouring and finishing in parts very poor. he balcony doors to our room didn`t fit very well, so it was very drafty and cold. We were supplied with a small plug in raditor but we couldn`t put where it was needed by the window as the electrical point there didn`t appear to be working properly. The breakfast was good but all self service which is disappointing for the money; £12.00 each. We were told by the evening receptionist that the hotel is being refurbished and will be presented as a five star when completed. I paid in excess of £100 and then breakfast on top. I felt I may have been able to get better value for money elsewhere even though the staff polite and helpful.
The first room we were allocated was really poor - the main light was not working, the bed was difficult to get into on one side because a pillar was in the way and there was no space for a bedside table on that side. There was no fridge in the room as advertised. The volume on one channel of the TV was so low we couldn`t hear it. However when we reported these problems to Reception we were immediately upgraded to a deluxe room. Even so, in this room the lights on one side of the bed didn`t work and room was `heated` via a noisy vent in the ceiling which was pumping out cool air and again the volume on one channel of the TV was so low we couldn`t hear so we just wrapped up to keep warm. The additional fan heater was not powerful enough to heat the room but fortunately the bathroom was heated by radiator so that was fine. The staff were all pleasant and keen to please but being the weekend there were no maintenance staff available to fix any of the problems.
A break to recharge batteries, where could be better than the Thistle, , lovely view of Hyde Park, beautiful room, excellent, friendly & very helpful staff. The breakfast was full of choice & very good.
I would have scored the Thistle as Excellent, but the room just looked over the services, and fire escapes in the centre of the hotel, and didn`t have much daylight. This wasn`t a problem as we spent most of the day away from the hotel anyway, and this room was still good value for money, and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly.
We enjoyed a de luxe room overlooking the park. Staff all very pleasant and happy to help with everything without being pushy. Looking forward to a return visit!
everything about this hotel was above standard and i would like to thank the staff for taking care of my wife and daughter so well
My husband and I stayed here for a trip up London and it was the icing on the cake for a lovely day. The rooms are lovely, really high ceilings, ornate lighting and clean bedroom/bathroom. Our bathroom was huge. we had their breakfast too which was buffet style but plenty of it and fab! It is a stone`s throw from Lancaster Tube which is on the central line, so perfect location for seeing London. Highly recommend.
