Excellent hotel had no faults to mention, excellent location, clean and modern hotel which met all our needs.
Very accessible to main tourist sites. Beds comfortable with efficient air con. Unpleasant number of smokers standing just outside the front door. Despite air vent musty odour to bathroom-copious hot water. Had to ask every day for milk sachets. Efficient check in. Pleasant restaurant/bistro staff.
was every happy with my room very clean staff lovely and very helpful no problems what so ever would use this hotel again very happy
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, it central location to O`Connell Street and the Temple Bar area and very reasonable room rates. Would definitely use again.
Good location for the centre of Dublin and right by pick up for airport and sightseeing buses. Walked to O2 quite easily. Hotel comfortable, and breakfast good if a little pricey, but special offer helped! Were offered an upgrade to larger room but stuck with booked room and more than adequate - were hardly in it.. Staff helpful. Will go back.
mugs instead of cups and saucers at breakfast, no choice in type of eggs only fried, staff very helpfull, room clean,
Modern, clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, polite staff. Did not eat there so cannot comment on food.
clean nice rooms, friendly staff, food very nice, will stay again when we go back.
REported our problems which were promptly investigated. We arrived on a Saturday. Vent and cold water problem we thought would not be able to be fixed until Monday. This did not happen. On Tuesday we requested a change of room. We were up graded to a family room with no extra cost. Staff are excellent. Breakfast unchanged throughout our 5day stay. Abacus buffet AWFUL!! Not enough staff on at breakfast time.
very nice breakfast, friendly staff, let us check in early .would go back.
Just off O`Connell Street, 5 mins walk to shops (Grafton St. etc.) or 10 mins to Temple Bar area - the Academy Plaza is centrally positioned, smart, modern and clean. Staff were friendly, and facilities were good. There were no nasty surprises on entering our room, it was fresh and comfortable. We had no previous experience of this hotel (booked online) but couldn`t fault it. Everyone has different experiences in hotels, and therefore different tales to tell, but this is an honest review and we would recommend anyone looking to stay in Dublin to seriously consider the Academy Plaza.
Perfect location very central but away from the crowd ... IDEAl. The room spacious enough very clean. Staff very friendly especially the guy at the bar. we spent three days there and we always went out for breakfast apart from the last day and I have to say it was fantastic. Dublin is a very expensive city and to be honest the breakfast in the hotel was excellent and worth every penny or cents...:-) comparing to other cafes very cheap. Anyway I would definetely recommend this Hotel to eveyone. Great week end .
Very modern, clean, well positioned hotel. Close to the main shops and 10 mins walk from Temple Bar and 15 mins walk from Grafton Street. Rooms were compact and quiet but had everything you required. Breakfast was efficiently run and the new Abacus `All you can eat` was excellent value for money.
Arrived at hotel, and was given a room overlooking a pub. We asked to move, and were given a very nice quiet room. Overall stayy was excellent, and very relaxing, as the matress was really nice, and there was air con, so the room didn`t get too hot!
Good hotel in excellent location. Walking distance to verything we needed and wanted to see. Good breakfast. Good room with good facilities - hiar dryer, iron etc which is not always standard. Nice reception area with place to chill and meet up with friends. One room troo lcose to nearby bar - very noisy but moved next day to better room with no fuss. Would definately return to this hotel when coming back to Dublin.
solo traveller for one niht only. Convenient location, clean and exceedingly pleasant reception staff on the plus, but minus for smallish room (albeit I was alone so that didnt matter) no bikkies on the tea tray ( thats just cheap and a bugbear of mine) and a poor quality hairdryer - these are minors really!!
We were happy with our oom - a very modern bathroom and excellent large double bed. however the breakfast food was appalling . there was little choice - only between a full cooked breakfast or some tired looking ham and processed cheese slices. The hot food was almost cold, with indigestable over salty bacon, greasy eggs ( fried - there was no other choice available). The tomatoes were stone cold and the tinned mushrooms were cheap and had a nasty taste. There was no jam provided for the croissants 9 which were inedible in any event. The food in the hotel`s two restaurants left much to be desired. Having picked the two most expensive dishes available in Harry;s , the lamb shank was returned, since it was grey in colour and tough in texture. and half of the the sirloin steak was left on the plate, as it was too tough to eat. Altogether an unpleasant evening.
I was only in Dublin for 24 hours. Hotel was very nice, staff friendly and helpful. Ate out at night and had to leave before breakfast so unable to comment on food/service etc
Fantastic location in Dublin. Everywhere I wanted to get to was within walking distance. I always find Best Western beds very comfortable and this was no exception. Facilities were very good. Breakfast from 7 am to 10 am was hassle free, and plenty of it. Staff throughtout the hotel were helpful and friendly. Would certainly book again.
We had a brilliant stay in this hotel. Our first time in Dublin. Although the room was rather small it was very clean and well equipped, hairdryer, tea, coffee etc.Breakfast was fabulous with everything you could want. Would love to go back to Dublin and certainly stay there again
The rooms were spotless and quite modern and spacious. The breakfast and service was excellent. The reception staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We`ve just spent two nights at the hotel and unfortunately it rained most of the time but the hotel staff were great. We wanted for nothing our whole stay. They even helped us to find ways to entertain our 20mth old whilst it rained. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Dublin.
very good hotel good location
Excellent room, staff very good right in the town center very enjoyable stay will book again.
Staff very helpful. Hotel modern and clean. Everything provided in rooms to make your stay comfortable. will stay here on my next visit to Dublin
The deal was good. The breakfast was lovely. The room was great, we upgraded for a few extra euro. The location was very convenient. Need I say more?! I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family.
The hotel staff are very helpfull and offer lots of advice on the area if needed the location was fantastic and only a short walk from all the main attractions and the bus stop was right outside. the rooms are very clean and had everything needed. We will be going back!
it should be far higher than a three star rating, we could not fault the hotel or its staff.
The Hotel Academy Plaza is very clean, the rooms are spacious and with good facilities. The staff are all very friendly, the breakfast was very good value, the hotel allowed us to book in early.
Excellent stay clean, friendly and close to all amenities would recommed too others
