lovely hotel, never ot the free bottle of wine tho on arrival
Lovely rooms, bit a nightmare trying to find your room as numbering wweird. However, fab hotel, have recommended to all my friends!
I HAD A GREAT TIME STAYING HERE THE ROOM WAS GREAT, VERY CLEAN GREAT BED 2 42INCH TVS , WE EVEN HAD A IRON BOARD AND A IRON WHICH YOU DON`T NORMALLY GET IN A LOT OF HOTELS, I WOULD WITHOUT A DOUBT STAY HERE AGAIN.THANKS FOR A GREAT STAY.
Although our room looked straight across to the rooms opposite, it was very smart, well-appointed and comfortable. Great bathroom and shower, WiFi and plenty of space. The illy espressamente coffee bar on the ground floor serves great coffee in a light and airy location.
A friend and i stayed over night and thought the Hotel was lovely. Good clean rooms, comfortable beds, lovely bathroom. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The complimentry wine was awful ( prob a bulk buy!) and while we had a free wi fi upgrade, there was no service/signal due to the room location, so we were unable to use it. The toiletries were only sufficient for a `one person` use, we could have done with two shower gels! Our room, was located on the 7th floor on the `inner` circle of rooms. Because of this, we had no natural daylight and our view was looking directly out onto other rooms. Five floors up there was a (big but not big enough) `skylight` - this acted as the only light source. We had to hav e the room lights on all the time :( The Hotel is very plush as you would expect for a new Hotel, i would like to go back to try the Spa, when its finished as at tour time of visiting it was in complete.
The weirdest thing for us was the horrible smell that emanated from the toilet and just didn`t go away. It was a strong sewer smell. The hotel is a four-star experience with soem nasty no-star surprises.
As this is a new hotel you`d expect to be modern and well appointed - it is! Great location for stepping out and touring the city. The promised free bottle of wine didn`t appear though!
On the whole, a pleasant and comfortable stay. I particulaly liked the shower and also found the room temperature control a lot more user friendly than most hotels (I am a regular business traveller making around 20 trips a year). However, the rooms (this was my second stay) seem very dusty and, to be honest, the daily make-up seemed a bit perfunctory. Also i had to ask for the toiletries to be replenished as this was not done by the maid. Finally, what is it with the lights?
Had to ask twice for the FREE bottle of wine. At first we were told it would be sent up straight away. When we prompted them again we were told it wasn`t in the package when it clearly states it was. We got the wine eventually! Also, free wi-fi does not mean free internet - this is 5 GBP. The room itself was very good although general room house keeping/cleaning was not up to scratch for such a fine hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back again. One final minor issue - concierge is always too busy.
From the moment i walked in I thought wow.... It was very clean, very friendly and the hotel didnt represent the price I paid... Really nice hotel and I will be booking again very soon.
I had booked a studio room for two addults and two children. On entering the room the sofa bed had not been set up as a bed and there were only two sets of towels. The `special offer` I booked also stated a bottle of red wine which again was missing from the room. We telephoned reception and said we only had 2 sets of towels and the bed was not made up and someone came to the room just as we were going out for the afternoon. When we got back the bed was made up and we had one set of extra towels but we were still short of one set. As neither of us like red wine we asked whether we could swap the complimentary bottle of red winw for a bottle of white - this request was refused - rather disappointing
A beautifully crafted chic modern hotel, with a sensible check out time an hour later than most hotels and friendly staff, wonderful views of St James Palace and a central location. Slightly bizzard, fire alarm, type warning when it`s time to check out, a phone call would be much better!
Definately will stay again!
My husband & I. Stayed for one night as we were both doing the London Marathon, we were given an upgrade to a studio room which was a lovely surprise; the room was great, we had a fridge fir our gels & drinks which we took with us for the marathon; the big bonus was to have breakfast @ 6am, some hotels do not offer this when the marathon is on & this was fabulous as we were able to get a good breakfast in us, either a full English or continental; the stuff were very friendly & helpfull. The hotel is beautiful, considering work still taking place the hotel & rooms were extremly clean and well presented.
Fantastic service from the minute you walk in. Turned up at 8 30am and was able to check straight into a room even though check in wasn`t until 2pm. Staff very polite and extremely helpful. Would have no hesitation in staying again.
great hotel great location great breakfast
Very luxurious and conveniently situated overlooking Houses of Parliament
staff pleasant. upgrade great. not tried wine yet. however even on 9th floor still heard traffic in night - ambulances as close to hosptital.also lights on room wired and difficult to fathom out. kept switching off. loved idea of iron & microwave in room
Overall it was not bad but with the builders still there and having to wait in line for breakfast. we were expecting better, and like before, it may be an improvement when it is actually finished.......
Hotel was nice (but expensive). Fridge broke down twice! Could`nt get anyone to call/hail a cab on our departure.
Stayed at this hotel on friday 2nd April 2010. First impressions were wow!. The hotel is lovely very modern and extremely clean. Only 2 dissapointments the maid service never maide up the childrens sofa bed they just left it all for us to do and chucked the sheets etc on the bed. We asked continuously for a cork screw to open the complementry bottle of wine and never got it so the wine never got drunk and was left there. But in all lovely stay.
The hotel was very good however a few teething problems as with any new hotel. Ice machines were not installed, numbers to rooms on some floors were incorrect (giving 2 opposite directions for the same room numbers!). At check in we were promised rooms together (we had booked 2) but they were actually 4 floors apart. We were disappointed with the `kitchennette`, personally I don`t feel that a microwave, sink and mini bar (with very small fridge) constitutes a kitchenette? Staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn`t do enough to help, beds and rooms were very comfortable, location was brilliant. In the evening we had a drink in the bar however the bar did not serve irish coffee or tia maria! The car was taken and paked for us which was great and collected and brought to the hotel when we left an parking was only £30 for the weekend.
New hotel (open only 2 days) and understandably some teething problems. Complimentary wine promised when booking did not appear. Mobile reception in room very difficult - was told problem was being addressed. Excellent position and very good facilities
We had to push for our "free upgrade" and did not receive the complimentary bottle of wine promised on our booking. The room was booked for 3 people but set up for 2 therefore we had to request bedding etc. Had to query my bill on departure as extra accommodation costs had been added.
The hotel had only been open a few days but there were no signs of any last minute finishing touches being applied nor were they necessary. Very well appointed room which had a lounge with large screen TV as well as similar in the bedroom. Bath robes were supplied. It would have been possible to self-cater as the mini kitchen had a microwave with enough crockery and utensils for a meal and a sink for washing up. Tea making supplies were provided and a separate small fridge next to the mini bar was availalble. Reception staff were courteous and efficient as were all the numerous doormen etc. Did not use any bar or restaurant facilities. Breakfast was way out of our budget, much cheaper in St Thomas Hospital across the road.
