Read the reviews was anxious for no reason clean friendly would recommend as part of a theatre package
Was a pleasant hotel , staff were warm and friendly
Good clean hotel nice friendly helpful staff in an ideal location for the theatre lots of eating places in walking distance not far from tube. Would recommend.
Breakfast very disappointing - no bacon and the sausages ??? I will use the hotel next time
I read reviews on trip advisor of this hotel which really made me worry about staying here but the staff were very helpful and friendly the room was clean and the breakfast was good so really don`t know what people expect for their money! The hotel was only a ten minute walk from Bayswater station which is on the circle line! So fab location!! Great hotel all round would definitely stay again.
Rates very well for price and location. OK for facilities (e.g. the Wifi is a bit limited). Would use it again.
Can`t fault the cleanliness at all- spotless. Our room had a lovely view over the small park. Don`t expect much from breakfast though!
Reception was clean, welcoming and staff friendly and helpful. Lift was broken so had to use stairs to 4th floor. Room was very small but clean. Breakfast was shockingly bad felt like a school canteen at best and food was Very basic and not at all nice!
Hotel a good base for London
Very nice buffet breakfast, however it may be useful if it catered more for customers with specific dietary needs. Room very nice and staff helpful and friendly
We had one of the old rooms, which wasn`t what we expected, it was clean though and ok for two nights. Until I tried to sleep. The bed was so uncomfortable and I had springs in my back and down my side making it impossible to sleep until after 3 am...... They did move us for the second night and the beds where like a dream compared to the first room.
I understand the concept of a budget hotel, but this was awful. Underground room with virtually no daylight, broken shower, blocked sink plug and a room the size of a box cupboard. Never again.
Hotel was clean and the rooms well presented. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. Only downside was corridors could do with a paint as they looked tired. Staff friendly and good location for Paddington and tube. Good value.
Room was very small and the breakfast wasn`t very good.
Entrance and reception area very clean and modern, the bedrooms though are in need of major refurbishment
Hi lovely clean hotel and staff very nice and room clean , nice breakfast too many thanks
Clean, tidy and modern. Double bed not wide enough as room was too small to take it. So many guests breakfast was a bit of a bun fight.
4th floor room, bargain price when booked with show. Excellent breakfast included. Would highly recommend if seeking a money saving option.
I booked a twin room in Dec and was told there were only singles available as they were fully booked! Eventually got a twin and the beds were metal camp beds!! Room had old tired furniture a broken window and a hole in bath taps. Service was terrible staff attitude uncaring. Breakfast was cheap and nasty food. Walls had plaster falling off and in need of complete decoration. Breakfast was unpleasant with member of staff collecting slops and scraping plates at tables. All ver gross and unpleasant. It was overpriced and I would never stay there again. How it got 3 stars I don`t know!!
One lift not working, water pressure in the shower was low and no bacon available for the full English breakfast.
Staff pleasant and helpful. We had two basement rooms, very dirty, seriously in need of decoration and beset by unreasonable levels of loud mechanical noises day and night.
when you just want a decent bed, a good shower and reasonable access to the West End it is the place to go
hot water in room was only lukewarm, 2 lights not working, nowhere to put washbag in bathroom, breakfast disappointing - no bacon, tasteless sausages, only one toaster working, chaotic. Staff were polite and helpful.
Unfortunately I was given room number 10 which in all honesty was not fit for human habitation. I`m used to slumming if necessary but the room was an eye opener. After contemplating what to do for thirty minutes I returned to reception. I explained my concerns and that I only wanted a clean bed and a shower in the morning but there was no way I was using the shower in room 10. I appreciate some of the clients the Hotel may attract but this was below the standard I expected. I asked if this was an example of all the rooms as Trip Adviser had suggested a better quality than my experience. To the receptions credit the Duty Manager I think Hasn immediately gave me a key to room 21 and asked me to check that it was acceptable. Well is was perfect and newly refurbished so well dealt with and I accepted room 21. It still remains that the old rooms are not fit for habitation and I pity anyone getting caught out.
Check in was 3pm so arrived at 7pm and room was not ready however check out was 11am and cleaners knocked at 9am to see if we had left, not quite sure why that was
Dirty, mould on ceiling,& in the bathroom. Seriously need new furniture. Workmen playing loud music above, were told this would stop at 5pm!! GREAT! Radiator kept my room mate awake until early hours. Fortunately I had ear plugs in! Workmen started drilling again next morning 9am!! We had an upgrade next day with an additional £20 taken from us!! This room was cleaner but the design should have been for single, as you couldn`t move, the shower power was nil, the water did not drain away fully for about half an hour!!! There were two lovely reception staff, one lady, Whitney, unfortunately cannot remember other ladies name. On a final note, I would definitely not recommend this hotel ever! I have travelled most of the world, and have never complained about a hotel!! Thank goodness the show was amazing. Such a disappointment about hotel, as I was celebrating an early 50th birthday, and my friend a 40th birthday.
When you walk in its breath taking, marble floors and spotlessly clean, however that`s where it ends, Bayswater have managed to invent a time machine in the middle of london, the reception is well In the 21st century however the rooms are right back in the 70s. Despite all rooms being non smoking it was clear someone has been smoking in the room, butts on the window. And the room stank of smoke. The whole room was very tired, broken tiles, broken lights, bathroom was just a shock, and the breakfast was below poor. Lucky there is a Mcdonals 5 minute walk away. Over all I would never stay there again. 0 out of 5 rating
Don`t bother with Breakfast, tinned (vinegary) mushrooms and cheap frozen sausages. Showers that don`t work properly and damp rooms. Clean beds and linen though, even if they are camp bed style !!
Great value for money. Great location for Royal Albert Hall Visit and other museums. Kensington Park few minutes walk away. Recently refurbished room . Pleasant and helpful staff, what`s not to like!!
Good quality hotel and very reasonable price. The staff are always willing to help and it is located in a nice quiet area bit close enough to the tube to make accessing London easy. The breakfast provided had limited availability but was tasty and more than enough. Overall an excellent hotel and I would stay here again.
Nice, clean, close to shops and tube links. Small rooms but ideal for people who are site seeing!
reception and breakfast room were beautifully renovated bedrooms clean and comfy just awaiting renovation. we stayed last year and would stay again
