Stayed with a friend for a night out in Dublin and it was a joke. 80 euro plus breakfast for a room that probably hadn`t been touched since the 1970`s. We asked for a twin room and got a double. The toilet wouldn`t flush. The TV didn`t work. The hair dryer was broken. It just became laughable at that stage. There are some parts of this hotel that are refurbished and new but beware of the old part! Not worth the money, could definitely find better around Dublin at that cost!

Dear Guest, Sorry to hear of your bad experience at The Regency Hotel. We do advertise with pictures that our Budget rooms are located in an older unrenovated part of the Hotel but of course that does not excuse all that was wrong with your room. Regards Carol
Great hotel, great location, great price. Good food, reasonably priced. Very friendly staff especially at reception. Will definitely be back. The swimming pool is a great attraction.

Thank you so much for your kind review, we hope you will come back to stay again soon. Regards Carol
The hotel is currently under going renovation, but the rooms are clean, beds were comfortable, and the shower had plenty of hot water. That being said, there was no heat (we were there in January, the TV didn`t work, and there is no wifi. But you can pay ?6 in the lobby to use a computer there to get online. Hotel was also very easy to get to from buses.
I complained and was left waiting to see manager for half an hour. Manager never got back to me. I now have to go to the bother of making a complaint

Dear Guest I am sorry to hear that you had a dissapointing stay with us, Unfortunately our Leisure Centre and Spa operate a reduced schedule over the Christmas period, this is signposted at Reception. I am sorry to hear that the Manager you dealt with did not get back to you, if you would like to contact me directly I will ensure you get a response. Regards Carol McKenna Reservations Manager
It would be very helpful to have a welcome pack in room. We did not know how to contact reception or what the fire evacuation procedures were. Staff very helpful. Room very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
We stayed here for 2 nights in October. I was originally booked into a budget room, but having see the reviews and photographs of those rooms, i requested an upgrade to a standard room (extra 20 Euro per night) I have to say the room we were given was very nice, with only slight issued affecting the room (like an iron mark on the carpet!) The bar area was nice and the staff very friendly. The only issue i would say we found was the waitresses in the dining room at breakfast. whether is was down to inexperience or a language barrier i am not sure, but our table was not set correctly with numerous items missing. The waitress seeing to our table had to be asked 4 times for a teaspoon, and each time the request was ignored. Eventually i had to go over and ask for this from the manager. But i have to say, that was the only blot on a very nice stay
Good bar facilities. Left early morning. Hotel receptionist difficulty with language. Hotel good given the cost and seems to have immense potential
I was expecting a lot more. The concierge was a short and not very helpful. The room was extremely disappointing.
We enjoyed our stay, staff were very helpful. Will certainly be back.
Room missing kettle and a light bulb missing. Reasonably priced and accessible.
Stayed one night. Sink in bathroon cracked. Carpets in hallways in need of cleaning Stains+++. Lots ot tiles missing in Jaquzzi and some tiles broken in pool. No iron in room. Had to go down two floors to iron clothes!!! Meal in carvery excellent. Did not have breakfast
Bath lacked a plug and I did not like having to pay extra for car parking, but otherwise superb!
Great first impressions. Nice staff. No towels in room though after waiting until 2pm to check in, then took over 30 mins to resolve. We were on the 3rd floor and from midnight until 5am when we left we were subjected to drunken people slamming doors, banging, shouting. Setting the fire alarm off (briefly, but at 2 or 3am...) ?7.50 for a JD and coke!! Thank god we didn`t have the kids with us. Glad we got a good deal but probably wouldn`t go back without incentive.
I was so disappointed with this hotel it is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, our room was stinking with a nasty smell, the bathroom had a damp patch on the roof , the furniture was worn out, we had food in the bar and have had better in McDonalds, I had concerns when I read reveiws on this hotel but contacted hotel direct who assured me they have had nothing but good feedback which I find hard to believe! I will be expecting a refund of some kind for my bother!
On arrival at the hotel I felt the reception staff were not friendly what so ever. Some confusion around what are booking entitled us to and the female who served me was not very pleasant. I have to praise the bar staff including waiter who was very friendly and the food was very good! just a pity about the reception staff though.
we have always stayed at the regency every time we are in dublin.value for money exellent staff helpful friendly rooms clean and comfortable what more would you want
Very helpful and friendly staff. Dispensers needed for cereals in dining room and more staff there to supervise. Noticed children running hands through cereal containers.
room like engine of aeroplane, shower did not work satisfactorily, kettle did not work, bed side lamp did not work, volume on tv did not work, no remote control for tv. this was the second room i was offered, the first room was drab, dingy and i woud not stay there. awful awful awful experience, when we complained to duty manager we were offered a breakfast !!!!
Great hotel, polite staff, lovely clean rooms good leisure facilities, nice pool, great access to city
Bar/restaurant and leisure facilities were very good, shop nearby and bus stop close by. However I found the staff at reception very disappointing . Not very friendly or helpful . The weekend we stayed there was a fault in the fire alarm which kept setting it off even during the night ! When we went to reception to enquire what was happening/report it she just sniggered and said it was `a fake` and they would look into it.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and even though there are live musci nights, the rooms are quiet - excellent for sleeping in peace. My room was quite small, but it was clean and had everything I needed in it (except the phone - so there was no possibility to contact reception; luckilly, I didn`t need to). I especially liked the bed - soft, but not too much, great sleepin` :)
1st room was dirty, not one shown on website, and when req change, receptionist was rude, blunt and lacked customer service skills. After getting person that made booking to call and complain , a new receptionist called Arena was v helpful and we got a diff room.
Very basic. Breakfast very dear so didn`t even bother eating there.
the room`s are old fashon no air condition in the room no safe in the room very dated hotel will not be going back and the price was outragous will not be recommending it to anyone and wil not be going back their there was a musty smell in the hotel

Thank you for taking the time to review us, however we are not and indeed have never claimed to be a five star hotel.
Bedding shows signs of age, what hotel now has blankets and sheets would be better with Duvets
The rooms were great, beds large & comfortable. The food was excellent with great choice. Would recomment.
After reading some of the reviews for the Regency hotel in Dublin I must say we were not looking forward to the trip, but the hotel was great rooms clean, warm with loads of hot water. staff were very helpful and we all had a great weekend and we will be happy to use this hotel again great location in between the airport and the city center and the price was great too what more do you want.
very helpful and room was lovely
Ok for overnight stay. Good value. 6 out of 10 overall rating by 4 adults. Bar nice service good We did not eat there.
The old part of the hotel needs refurnished - slightly dowdy! Car-park charges disappointing - hotels normally provide this as a service.
The rooms are dated but that`t ok. The swimming pool was excellent. The first night at 3am some very noisy women came up to their rooms and were loud for over an hour. The second night a 50th party was taking place in the hotel with loud music until 12.30am, this was with agreement with the hotel. Our room was on the main corridor on the first floor so lots of passing traffic. The second night more people including children shouting and banging doors for about half an hour at 2am. I had a 9 year old with me. So decent price but no guarantee of a night`s sleep. Not particularly welcoming at the front desk. Didn`t give me any info on breakfast etc so not great at promoting business in the hotel.
We felt it was perfect for us as we could walk to college, study in comfort in the evening and have a drink and meal in the evening. Fantastic value, warm and comfortable surroundings.
My colleague and I were very happy with the bedroom, we booked a budget room and were pleasantly surprisd with the spacious room we received. It was ideal as we had exams and needed to study. We will be back again soon. Ideally located for us.
