An oasis of calm in the rush of the city.
A lovely hotel, to be sure, but do try to get an inside room, as it can make all the difference. Bring your wallet, too. One pays a big price for a room, then must pay for everything else, as well. Internet access, newspapers, all tea, coffee, water; I guess if I`m staying five star, I would find it nice to swim in the onsite pool without being charged.
fabulous hotel, lived up to every expectation.iv,e stayed at a few top rated hotels in london over the years within a reasonable budget and theres no doubt this is the best so far, the room we booked was a double, and we were given a king with a floor area that could have passed as a suite.you may be charged to us the pool but remember its a spa hotel so you get a lot more than a swim well worth the money. as a treat we had breakfast go for the full english better value, and service is five star(whats the point of staying in a beautifull hotel and then going to mcdonalds for eats).if your staying in london for a special occation this hotel is for you.the tube station opposite gets you to the west end in five minutes.
Great locational, close to tube and a great room. WuBut only small old style TV and have to pay
We went for a special birthday weekend. We had 2 family rooms which were so spacious and luxurious. Would definately stay there again. Can`t wait to re book.
The hotel room was excellent & the room service/reception was fab, however the restaurant service was slow to non existent where an order for a pot of Tea didn`t arrive after 25 mins with an excuse it`s busy! How much does it take to place a Tea bag in a pot! The same staff were overly sullen & it did distract from an otherwise great w/end (yes, something so simple does have an effect & certainly not expected from a 5* Hotel - travelodge yes!)
Could have got better service, attention and hotter food in a Pizza Express. This was a shocking contrast to the lunch where the staff, service and food were, frankly, breathtakingingly brilliant.
An exceptionallly luxurious hotel. Worth every penny and then some! Treat yourself
Discreet and excellent service. Large comfortable rooms.
Fantastic hotel, staff very pleasant and always helpful, my only problem (with that of my seven friends) was the lack of Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room, THERE WAS NONE!!!
This was overall a very good experience. General rexxxxxs as follows: Staff friendly. Impressive atrium in hotel and good decor throughout. The room was reasonably proportioned but not large, with fridge. Room lighting system over complicated for what it needed to do. The TV was an ancient CRT and with poor user interface. The bathroom was lovely and with provision of dressing gown and slippers. The spa is excellent - lovely swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Good changing facilities. Disappointed to be charged on check out for using it (clearly based on the rate from this website) - although this wasn`t a lot of money, it let the whole experience down.
Fabulous size rooms and great spa. Service was top class - everything you expect froma 5* hotel.
The room was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were excellent. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return to this hotel again. It is in a good location being opposite a main station and a short walk from London`s main shopping centre.
One of the best hotel`s i`ve visited, service, staff and rooms was 5* plus from start to finish. Highly recommended.
The hotel was ok but for the money nothing special. On arrival we were told we were being upgraded from a deluxe to a "much better room". I think the deluxe must have been a walk in wardrobe.Ive stayed at many quality hotels around the world and while this one was ok it wasnt 5 star
I loved the hotel, the staff were very nice and willing to please and the rooms were a generous size and well furnished. Will certainly stay there again!
This hotel was excellent in all respects. The room was beautiful, the service excellent, location also wonderful. I did find it a pity that there was no tea facilities in the room so ordering a cup of tea to the room was pricey. I also found it somewhat over the top to face a charge of £14 for internet access and £10 to use the pool. I don`t mean to take from the experience because it was lovely but the extras cost a little more than I think they are worth. That said, I will go back but i will bring the travel jug!
The room attendants inadvertantly locked the bathroom door during evening room make ready. The door could not be opened until the next morning when maintenance staff came on duty. Had to use public restrooms for the evening. This situation not expected at a 5* hotel.
A very romantic hotel with excellent facillities
Lovely room, very comfotable bed, gorgeous very large marble bathroom. The service was excellent. Particularly impressed with the two lovely staff working in the Spa on Friday night, our Chambermaid, & the lovely cheerful waiter who was still jolly even after 10 of us moving our Winter Garden dinner booking from 9.30 to 10.30! The food in the Winter Garden was delicious. The Mirror Bar is great for pre dinner cocktails. Also love the new look 222 bar. Thank you!
We would definitely stay again. A tea and coffee making facility in the rooms would be a good addition but overall it is an excellent hotel. We avoided eating there as the food seems terrifically expensive but there are lots of good restaurants around, especially in Marylebone High Street. The hotel spa is fabulous.
The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The staff were plentiful on very willing to serve. The bar prices were not too bad considering your in London and the ambiance of this hotel is just lovely. If only it were a bit cheaper I would try to stay there more often.
Beautiful building. Nice spacious room, and very good sized bathroom. Now for the bad news. Breakfast, ordered dippy duck eggs, first hard boiled. Second absolutely raw. Everyone else in the party had finished so my son had no breakfast! No batteries in remote control for TV, and very dissappointing old sets. Mine didnt get sky. Very slippy shower floor.Safe refused to open, waited 2 hours for someone to open. Worst part, check out. 100 guests in a group had arrived, so no hope of being attended to without missing train, so could not even get copy of bill. AND they have already charged my card even though we asked them not too, and even spoke to duty manager. Still haven`t seen bill. WOULD NEVER RETURN..........going back to The Langham where they give excellent service.
This is really a great hotel, although it would have been nice to have an atrium facing room - room was a good size, great food, no coffee/tea facilities though which was disappointing, and our complementary newspaper didn`t turn up in the morning. Breakfast is pricey at £25 per head, but loads of other local options worth exploring. would higly recommend.
