i took my wife to this hotel for the night so we could go see a show it was very good great room and staff very pleasant and very close to all theatres .
I booked this hotel for my daughter to spend the night before her 18th birthday, with a friend, to see a show and sightseeing. The staff were excellent and looked after the two girls when they were told that they had not been to London on their own before. All staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is of a very high standard, they said the breakfast (included) was excellent as was the room.Good central location for shows/sightseeing and would be my first choice if I/we decide to stay in London in the future.
From arriving to departing was treated to a wonderful experience. Would stay again
I`ve been tempted to try this way of booking for ages & was delighted with the outcome. Will undoubtedly use Hotel Direct again. Thanks folks it made a special stay even more special.
The hotel was beautiful, i enjoyed seeing the candles all lit up in the evening, it gave a lovely warm christmassy feel. However i must say i was very dissapointed with the condition of the bathroom/shower. I feel a lovely shower is essential for a good relaxing way to de stress after travelling, yet i was let down by my bathroom. I have stayed in 2*/3* hotels where the bathroom is stunning so id spend more time improving that area if i was you. Other than that, staff were very polite and helpfull which was a comfort.
My only criticism is that it cost £6 for internet usage, whereas it would be free if using your i-phone in the tube station outside.
Was very impressed with the standard of this hotel. the rooms were lovely with all the mod cons. tghere were extremely well furnished to a high standard and were very clean. The location was perfect and very convenient for all of the main sighseeing attractions in London all within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff. a lovely weekend break had by us all and would definately come bcak and recommend to friends!
As above,my husband did manage to lift the tray down, but it really is very dangerous, also we are both in our seventies,so the tea -tray should be at hand level. The breakfast was very good, and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Our room was really nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bar was small but with a nice atmosphere. The only criticism was the buffet breakfast. For £22.95 I would have expected it to be cooked fresh to order. Overall We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would most certainly stay there again.
A very good hotel - great decor, staff very friendly and helpful, room very comfortable. In short an excellent choice as location was exactly what we wanted - within walking distance of most of the main attractions. Will definitely stay again if gong to London
Good hotel, clean. Excellant position for trafalger square and theatres . Receptionists very helpful and polite . Very busy area tho next to station.
would definately stay at this hotel again, it was fab, lovely rooms, nice breakfast, lovely grand hotel, the staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Would definately stay again.
Great location, value for money and staff all exceptional
Would reccomend
This ideally located hotel is a lovely place to stay. The atmosphere is great, I loved the beautiful sweeping grand staircase. Just outside the door is the theatre district and the National and Portrait Galleries.
Great decor and very attentive staff.Breakfast was included, but it was a bit sad. The chef obviously preferred making a load of food at once.
Very helpful at check in. Good size room with clean and comfortable accomodation. Breakfast was good with plenty of it and a good choice. Ours was complimentary so to have paid £21.95 would have been really expensive. The location was excellent. Straight off the train and you are there. Walking distance of Covent Garden, Theatre land and Regent Street for shopping. Just over the road from the National Portrait Gallery where we spent a very pleasant morning.I would recommend most highly. The only negative was the noise from outside Saturday night but I think we were unlucky and had just one disruptive group of people.
This hotel is excellent. The staff are helpful and the rooms are great. only one minor difficulty had requested twin room and on arrival it turned out to be a double. Staff were unable to change on the night butwe were offered a chanhe with a free up rade the next so no real complaints. we would recmmend this hotel
Lovely hotel with excellent service. All the staff were very helpful. Ideal position.
After repeating myself several times telling the staff that breakfast was included they finally got the message when I refused to pay for it.For the star rating the breakfast was terrible, Day two we decided not to que for 45 minutes and had breakfast elsewhere. We asked for 2 glass`s and some ice in our room as we could not get served in the bar after waiting for over 15 minutes, When they turned up the glass`s were dirty and the napkin they were on looked like it was used to clean the car park.On the bright side the room was nice although I did pay £60 for an upgrade.Overall I would rate this Hotel as a 2 star and no more, Very dissapointing.
Fantastic location for key London attractions. Very well trained staff and overall a typical British Grand hotel experience. Exceptional value as a Hidden Gem booking.
Good location by Embankment tube (into the city) trafalgar square and theatreland. Good value at £165 including breakfast. Good suzed, quiet room with bath and separate shower. I would stay again.
Great hotel and very convenient for a last minute stopover in London. Staff were very friendly and the room we were given was absolutely stunning! A very impressive hotel and experience.
Ideal location for Covent Garden and West End. Got off train, left luggage with consierge and 10 minutes later were in Covent Garden. Lots of good restaurants around.Room itself was very nice, a good size, nicely decorated and a good size bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.Breakfast was excellent - hot buffet and cold buffet. Quite pricely if paid for as an extra, but as an all-inclusive deal, good value.Have stayed here before and would definitely stay here again. The location can`t be beaten.
This Secret Hotel was situated slap bang in the middle of London, adjacent to Trafalgar Square. Cannot recall friendlier or more efficient reception staff, they were all wonderful. Decor elegant and up to date, room spacious and clean- and modern. Had been worried it might be dated as the hotel was long-standing, but it was anything but. Breakfast was fine, but room for a little improvement. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will use the hotel again.
Hotel was great value, upgraded to junior suite(£30) so lots of space(was even given a bottle of wine).Centrally located so ideal. Would stay there again and recommend it.
You would never guess the fantastic style inside the building. The staff was superb, the room is so elegant. On top of that the locations couldn`t be better. Highly recommended.
Once again booked a room and had paid but on arrival was asked if i wanted 2 upgrade room, this was in frount of my wife and i was very embarassed 2 say no as it was our annivarsary!again wasn,t happy with this situation.
Very pleased with the whole experience and would definatly go back again. One very small critism is the breakfast could have been slightly warmer and the waitress although keen was a little bit short on English customs and came axxxxx a little abrupt. Many thanks will see you again.
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff and well situated for theatreland and Covent Garden etc. Can`t really fault it but we didn`t have a great night sleep as the room above us had very squeaky floorboards and the occupants were either up very early walking about or didn`t bother going to bed but it kept us awake (think we were just unlucky!)
Had a great stay at the xxxxx xxxxx - Executive room was fantastic the only negative thing I could say is that the bed was a bit tough for my liking but apart from than it was all excellent!
Staff could not be more helpful, excellent place to stay.near everywere we wanted to, Hotel was in excellent condition. But the staff made this one of the best stays in a hotel to date.
Really nice clean and friendly hotel let down because the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever had all dried up even the fried eggs!!!! There are things in the sahara!!!
This hidden gem was definitely a surprise jewel .Had a 3 night stay breakfast included for me & my partner on her birthday & we loved every minute of it.The Reception Staff were very friendly & made us more than welcome I dealt with a lovely lady called Stephanie always smiling and was lovely to chat to and also a mention for Jose one of the hotel porters who was chatty & very helpful also the bar manager in Elainors bar was also very nice to chat to .Hotel had lovely decor inside every time you walked into the hotel there was a lovely scented aroma in the air .The hotel is ideally located very central to everything or Covent Garden,River Thames & Embankment,Trafalgar Square would highly recommend staying here....lovely hotel with lovely staff.Chris & Julie from Sheffield
A well situated hotel right in the heart of London. It`s a stones throw from the famouse sites as well as Covent Garden and all the theatres.
