This hotel has an excellent location close to subway station and Oxford Street. The room was clean and modern and finished to a very high standard. My only complaint (minor) was that housekeeping came knocking on the door at 8.15 am.
Back from theatre at 10.30pm, went for drink in bar to be told it closed at 11! People arriving 10 minutes after us were told they wouldn`t be served. Bar person then got into a row with aggrieved guest. Unbelievable in a hotel in this price bracket. Ludicrously priced breakfast but no worries good cafe just across the road doing a good breakfast at a third of the price.
Overall room was clean & tidy shower was great, but as mentioned above blinds were missing. The curtains barely covered the windows & were see through. As we were at road level im sure the taxi drivers had quite an eye full & any one else who walked past, so much for a romantic weekhend ! Receptionists seemed to be shocked that blinds were missing but failed to do any thing about it.I wonder how long the room has been like this as i am surprised if no one else has complained unless they were all exhibitionists!I await your reply.
very moden hotel check very good, place to leave you bag if you get they before booking time or if you want to leave your bag after check out. Rooms if you can make sure you don`t have rooms 7101/706 as you get a buzzing sound all night. Bed large and very soft just be carefull as the metal just hang out a bit my sister bang herself on the metal bar. Bathroom good nice to have a bath or shower. Did have to asked for extra tea bags and a makeup mirror which was deliver within 20 mins of asking. heating took a bit to work out. Did wonder if with booking with direct maybe got not the best rooms? Breakfast was excellent! The only thing was I paid for breakfast at the time of booking and did get asked twice for payment but when I showed my booking form all was alright.
The room was small and the bathroom looked a little tired. The Breakfast was too expensive. However, it was a great location and the staff were very friendly. On the whole i think it was a little over priced.
Excellent hotel all round. Staff could not have been more helpful or informative. The choice for breakfast was superb. What more can you say.
Room was perfect, clean and spacious. Great location, easy access to all the sites. The shower door was a bit annoying though, it wouldn`t close so you had to use your foot to keep it shut, easily fixed though
Unfortunately the Hotel Bar shuts now at 12pm (I am sure it was open later last year when we stayed) After a night at the theatre we would have liked a nightcap before we went to bed. There was a very bad stench from the drains on the Sunday morning and we were on the seventh floor so quite high up. Would not have liked to be on a low floor or staying on a hot day. I know the drains are a problem in London but not nice to wake up to that horrendous smell.
the hotel is in a fantastic location, very easy to access. Very central, beautiful surroundings, swanky hotel with 2 restaurants, 2 bars and a downstairs bar/club. Staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was quite small, but very quiet considering the location, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Got a fantastic deal for this room, very highly recommended.
We had a great time staying at your hotel, and will be back again.we were offered an upgrade in rooms when we arrived, which we accepted.the room was good with king size bed! very comfortable apart from the fact you had 4 very small pillows on the bed, which tended to move around alot in the night. Surely even standard size pillows would have been better.
all staff were very helpful ,exellent breakfast, clean rooms, nice and warm
Great value room in an amazing modern hotel in just about the best position for every kind of London visitor be it shopper, tourist, theatre goer, clubber or museum visitor. As a first timer to London I can`t think that I would ever want to try a different hotel!
Staff helpful, Rooms comfortable. Fridge a bonus. Choice of bath or shower; useful as have some mobility problems andI cannot use a bath or a shower over bath. Luxury duvets and pillows; very comfortable. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay again. In fact I would go as far to say our experience, at this hotel, has spoilt us when bookings other hotels; as they would be hard pressed to provide the same level of comfort and service.
My only quibble - terrible TV, almost unviewable picture quality.Otherwise a top hotel in a superb location.
I booked For my husband and I as part of a promotional offer and would defo steely stay again! Staff great upon check in and the bar and restaurant staff really helpful and gave us some great discount vouchers for dinner and drinks. We had booked a standard double room and we were upgraded to an executive room overlooking Oxford street. The rooms had plenty if space and a great shower a shame we didn`t spend an awful lot of time in there to be honest! Again fab location opposite Hyde Park would stay here again thank you The Cumberland for a great stay and keep up the good work!
Rooms very quiet, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Fantastic breakfast, huge choice!!! Standard rooms were well appointed. Staff were friendlyand attentive, gave really good service. Really enjoyed our stay.
We were upgraded upon arrival by a most lovely man!thanks so much! The Scottish Swedes loved their executive room!xxxxx
Big clean bedroom, comfortable bed with all necessary provisions. Food excellent and all the staff we encountered excelled in a friendly manner.
Very good hotel although there were some things that need addressing. The shower leaked badly on to the floor and the bathroom fan did not work. The pillows in the room were very flat/poor. Also there was no dressing table - hair had to be done standing up putting brushes etc on the floor.
hotel very clean and the rooms we had were very spacious with good decor
Rooms are very nice, spacious with good modern bathrooms. But the thing that really impressed us was the service, they could not have been more helpful, generous and polite. The art deco foyer is a bit weird but once you get past that the hotel is tasteful.Highly recommended.
What seems like a vast hotel once you`re inside. Good size rooms, everything very clean and modern with polite and friendly staff. Extremely comfortable beds too!Only niggle was when checking in both myself and the guests either side of me at the desk were having problems - my room type was not the same as booked and the others` reservations couldn`t be found - but all resolved painlessly.
Overall: Hotel decor/interior design/lighting rather `souless`, disappointing for a centrally located 4 star.Check in: more like an interrogation, numerous questions & answers before getting key.Staff polite and helpful.Room: small double bed in a small room.Bathroom basin area not well planned,no where to put soap, tap too close to edge and single lever water regulation stiff, basin leaked onto floor, mirror splashback behind basin difficult to keep clean and shows rust areas. No bottled water in room.Heating did not work, had to order portable heater.Bar area: souless lighting , awful electronic repetitive music, expensive drinks. Staff attentive & helpful.Breakfast area: in basement but not well signed to get there, large and spacious with a good choice, some language understanding difficulties with foreign staff, hot food area crowded with containers - difficult to open/close lids.Overall: ok for a 1 night stay but there are other `nicer` hotels for a longer stay.
We were delighted to be upgraded to an Executive room - lovely touch.
Nice modern hotel in perfect position for shopping, located at the top of Regent Street. hotel bar & night club were buzzing with activity which was nice when we returned after being out. Edgar at reception was v nice giving us a free upgrade. Ate in the Gary Rhodes resturant. was excellent but expensive. The room was a little tired but ok.maybe we`re picky. Would definitely consider re booking.
The Cumberland is ideally situated only one minute from Marble Arch station. The lobby is impressive and check in was dealt with quickly and efficiently by a polite and friendly member of staff. Rooms are smaller than average though. A double bed pushed against one wall means one person has to climb over the other to get out! Plus points are the very comfortable bed, decent shower, tea/coffee making facilities and great location.
Fantastic busy London location. Very friendly, helpful staff. Superb breakfast. Recommend.
Had a very enjoyable stay at the Cumberland, reception amazing and the staff very happy to help.Only downside was room 6020 which didn`t get much natural light and overlooked other rooms unless they closed the curtains! Would recommend staying here, great location, great place, great price.
excellent service & especially after service from fabrizio the concierge
Stayed in no 20 which is the annexe and we had room 314 and there was a constant rattle behind the wall which went on all night but stopped around 8.30 in the morning, so this kept me awake all night. Apart from that it was okay.
Location - Tube station and shops round the corner so brillant to get located to get anywhere without being too close to everything. Rooms were lovely. Breakfast was fab - 5 different stations each with its own chef serving porridge, fried food, pancakes, waffles, fruit, meats, cheeses, etc - something for everyone. Cant wait to go again next year. Will definitly be booking into this hotel again
