GREAT LOCATION AND FACILITIES ARE GODD. HOWEVER NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM WHICH TENDS TO BE A LITTLE TOO WARM.
Room was a bit small but clean and everything in place
I was upgraded to an executive single room which was a benefit as you are unfairly treated on price when single.
Plumbing from next door room rather loud (their late night showers woke me). Generally comfortable and staff helpful - their muddle over newspapers resulted in an apology and no charge.
Quality of food at breakfast was a bit disappointing. The bacon was overcooked and the eggs were undercooked.
Location is excellent, minutes from Tube and a short stroll to the banks of the Thames not to mention vast theatres. Staff very friendly and helpful room good for the price.
Only problem was door key. Struggled with it,and then couldnt get in at midnight after only being downstairs. Night receptionist not very helpful, asked me for i.d. and I had nothing on me. I had only been sitting downstairs and he had seen me. Anyway he replaced key (nite of 12th aug)
Had we been in an air conditioned room the rating woud have been excellent. Our room 701 was like a sauna, and we had to keep two fans running when the room was occupied. This clearly disturbed sleep.Staff were courteous and amenities were of a high standard.
Hotel staff were very helpful and professional. The room was clean, comfortable and in a fantastic central location. I would definately book again.
Very pleased with hotel very clean and tidy, and is in walking distance to lots of placesOver all very happy would book again
excellent hotel right in the heart of everythingwill go back soon
I left my raincoat in the room and it was found for me.This is the 2nd time I have used the Strand Palace and I would have no hesitation in using the hotel again and recommending it to friends
I stayed in a twin room with my son for a recent theatre visit. Short walk from Covent Garden, theatres in Charing Cross Road, Embankment for the river taxi, bridge over to South Bank & the Tate, etc. Excellent location. Room very comfortable, quite spacious - only problem was that it was very warm in the room. However, we would definitely go again.
Service in general was good, breakfast eggs should be cooked to order fried eggs don`t sit well on serve yourself plates.
Clean and efficiently run hotel, conveniently located within walking distance of the theatre district and Covent Garden without city noise being an issue at night. The room was small but more than adequate for our needs our only issue was the lack of air conditioning, it was a hot night even with both windows open and we feared for our m&m`s bought at m&m world during the day!
I honestly think that for a three star hotel it is very good value for money for location. No aior con does hinder the enjoyment and the lack of plugs in say 558 hindered where it was positioned. Get air con.... 4 star. Staff in all aspects were fantastic especially Commentaa and recepttion staff . Bit of a shock to find a glass of Chablis 13.95!! They shouldd have told us the price. Well done and thanks for the support when I lost my credit card and the general professiobnalism and friendliness.
The weather was extremely hot and my room was small and very warm! I had been provided with a fan which helped. The room was clean and bright, but very noisy as it faced onto the Strand. I was so tired that I slept right through on the second night. Room service was on time and good food reasonable priced. I would be happy to stay again.
Room was positively tiny. It was an attic room on 7th floor and obviously a single room with two single beds installed and single room facilities. Beds so close unable to get out of one bed without bumping the other. At £160 pounds per night was outragiously bad value. Website should explain that for less expensive price one is given a substandard room that would be more honest than the implication that it is a standard room that has not sold previously. With no air conditioning the room was positively claustrophbic. I attempted to change the room and telephoned room servivce to ask about air conditioning and was adivsed no room in the hotel had air conditioning so stayed as we were there for only one night. Plus side - within walking distance to West End atractions galleries, theatres, etc. Plenty of buses to other tourist attractions. Staff pleasant.
The room was tight on storage space. No drawers or shelves in wardrobe which made unpacking for more than an overnight stay a problem.
overall perfect for our requirements
Stayed at the Strand Hotel for 2 nights for a theatre break. The Strand hotel was an excellent hotel with frendly and helpful staff especially the Concierge who were very knowlegiable. The hotel was in an ideal spot for sightseeing and theatres and was very clean and well worth the money. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely book this hotel again if stayiong in London
Excellent location for exploring West End. Hotel room was immaculately clean and the general feel of the hotel very good. Checking in & out was stress free too. Would definitely recommend.
excellent location, very helpful staff , accomadation good value for money we would stay again
I had stayed at this hotel before and had been quite impressed but this sojourn was really disappointing. Firstly, the room was very small and cramped as was the bathroom. Secondly, my duvet cover was stained and I found a cockroach like insect among clothes left lying on the dressing table. Horrible. Lastly, the breakfast cost £30 sterling for two..absolutely ridiculously pricing for a very ordinary buffet breakfast. Extremely disappointing overall.
HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED STAYING AT THE STRAND PALACE. NOW THE REFURBISHMENT HAS IMPROVED THE STANDARD. PROPER SHOWER CUBICLES INSTEAD OF A BATH MEANS THAT IT IS QUICK AND EASY ,GOOD FOR THE YOUNG ,ELDERLY,FIT OR NOT SO FIT,AND THE ENVIRONMENT . THE ROOMS AND FACILITIES ,NO UNNECESSARY FUSS AND ICE ON TAP EXCELLENT. MY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STRAND PALACE.
I stayed on a Monday night and the price was ok. Room was clean but a bit small. Breakfast was extra and at £15 was a bit pricey. I would stay there again.
Pleasant and efficient reception staff. Room fine, apart from noise from the Strand. Had to wait avery long time for a lift - 5 minutes!
Rooms slightly on the small side but adequate no air conditioning but fan was provided and windows opened which was good!! would still rather stay here any time compared to modern buildings this has lots of character the staff are awesome especially concierge and information hats off to you guys! food inc breakfast and dinner were really good dinner excellent value awesome carvery, can`t wait for our next visit. great location. thanks for making our stay a good experience we will recommend you to all our kiwi friends
