"GREAT LOCATION"

Lovely hotel with excellent location. Good service, beautiful room and so comfortable. Breakfast excellent too. I will definitely stay here again because it`s just across from Waverley Station.

The situation of the hotel is excellent. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful. Unfortunately the breakfast was the worst I`ve had anywhere with eggs underdone and everything else overdone. I would recommend the hotel to friends though, just warn them about the breakfast.

The Hotel was very clean and the rooms had everything I needed,the only negative point was that the room I was in was at the very top of the hotel and had what I would describe as a porthole as a window so I didn`t have a very good view.If you want a room with a view don`t book the top floor.

Good size rooms and pleasant staff only one word of warning breakfast is advertised as being availabel till 10am when we went to the dining room there were no free tables and 5 other couples in front of us meaning we did not get a table until 9.50am only to find that the hot buffet was nearly empty and most items were not filled up again. If breakfast is available till 10am the buffet should be fully stocked until then!!

"Xmas shopping trip"

Arrived approx 6.30.p.m. Thurs 24th Nov. Our room was overlooking Princes Street the view very good. Room clean and with plenty of space - enjoyed every minute we were there. Will be back one day.

Excellent stay, food good, staff very helpful, accommodation really clean and tidy. Will stay again and if in Edinburgh for the day will certainly eat there

"Excellent Hotel"

Had a great stay in the Waverly hotel. Excellent location in the city centre. Only down side was light switch was missing on wall for main lights in the room and I got a shock from a wire when I went to put the light on.

"I love staying at the Waverley"

I love staying at the Waverley I stay twice a year. I do feel the hotel could do with some updating and I wish that I could be given some sort of incentive for being a loyal customer. My last two rooms looked out of the back of the hotel so I did feel like I had "cabin fever" at times. They were also extremely hot.

"rather noisy at back of hotel"

generally rooms were clean and tidy overall, staff were quite willing to help and friendly.the noise was caused by outside traders during the early hours.

What a lovely hotel set in an old building in a very central location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and hope to sample the food next time too

We were disturbed one afternoonwhen someone entered our room with a duplicate key. After seeing that the rooom was occupied, the man made a hast retreat. Later that afternoon two regular employees checking electrical matters notiified us that they would be coming to our room to c heck, and did so. We are inclined to believe that the earlier intrusion was .from someone not connected with the hotel. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay both comfort and plesant manner of staff.

"Double Room very small could have been a bit brighter as there was a window looking into a wall whic"

I have always booked into The Waverley and have been very please with the room but I would consider again as the bed was very hard and lumpy not the usual standard for the hotel in my experence I would say it has gone down in value and up in price

We spent two days in Edinburgh and the Old Waverley was perfect. It is ideally placed for sight seeing and shopping alike and is only 5 minute walk from the train station. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean, we would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh.

Excellent service and food. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The location is ideal for exploring as it is very central and is effortless to get to. I would definately stay there again and would recommend eating out for dinner in it`s restaurant. A very well done!!

Most areas have poor 3G/Wi-Fi reception. And, the furniture in the Cranston restaurant is pretty old and tired looking.

Breakfast - plenty of it but quality poor. Very convenient for the station good location but no hotel parking facilities to speak off - discounted NCP car park charges which were expensive. Difficult to get the luggage upstairs as there was no lift to take up the flight of staris. Room was spacious and comfortable with good views of the castle. Enjoyable stay in Edinburgh

The rating would have been excellent if the staff had been more helpful. They on the whole (there were small exceptions) seemed unaware of their importance. Not as helpful as one would expect from a hotel like this and even neglectful. Maybe they need som stimulance from their employer?

"ideal central location-very pleasant stay"

Ideally situated for sightseeing, room was fine, could have wished for a better view though. bathroom very good {note - floor very slippy when stepping out of shower - no bath mat }breakfast excellent on choice, quality and service - no complaints at all. Reception staff friendly and helpfulAll in all a very pleasant stay

The staff couldn`t be more helpful. You can leave your bags at their porter service before you check in that day and on the day you check out. Though we ate at another restaurant in the night, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant was good. Location is excellent, 2 minutes from Waverly train station.The only complaint was that the rooms were rather warm at night. All in all a lovely stay, one we would definately do again.

"staff were all very polite and helpfull, room clean and good size shower pressure low"

We found the hotel to be of a very good 3* standard, room of good size and well furnished.The breakfast was buffet style but excellent and the staff polite and very helpful.Recommend
