Chambermaid started to make up room for next guest before we had even checked out and were still using the room.

We got a `recently refurbished room` and like a lot of this type of work the person who designed, furnished and did the work never slept in the room, it is form over function. Likewise the chef never eats their own evening meal. A little bit of attention to detail could have made all the difference. The staff tried their best, were helpful, and it is in a great location, but our room had a list price of ?520 a night with zero view + ?38 for two breakfasts. If we had paid anything like this I would have been livid. I have slept in better 3*, and would never go back.

Location is fantastic, just across the road from the wonderful Jardin des Tuileries park and short walks from the Louvre, Musee d`Orsay, Place de la Concorde, BatoBus and Metro station. The hotel is undergoing renovation (June `10) and so parts are unfinished, but work is generally discreet although there was a smell of fresh paint. Our room was large and double-aspect (a superior double) overlooking the internal courtyard and was generally quiet. Although well-furnished and spacious the room was in need of renovation, with marks on the walls and carpet. It is not cheap, but the location alone made it worth the extra. If you want a top class hotel in one of the best areas of Paris then this fits the bill.

Negatives: Rooms very tired and badly in need of renovation. No coffee/tea making facility in the room. Steam iron not available. Breakfast menu same every day.Positives: Staff very helpful, particularly concierge and front desk. Excellent location. Overall good value but the property needs updating - its depressing.

mixed feelings following booking as some rather bad reviews. based on these my expectations were low but was pleasantly surprised.great communal areas and pleasant and helpful staff throughout.room a bit dated, good size but heating and hot water werent what i would expect. would be a problem if weather was colder.only major issue: refurbishment of the spa meant that there was no direct lift access to pool etc. there was a strange policy that you couldnt change in the changing rooms and had to enter in robe and sanlesprovided in rooms). this meant walking through the restaurant and lobby seating areas in a bath robe!! not very dignified and not what i would expect at any hotel.minor problem was 3pm check in-particularly as the flight arrived early.overall a good experience for a weekend break, but would have expected better room quality for the price and based on the glossy pictures, even at the reduced rates we got

The overall impression of the hotel was good, excellent location. The only deawback was that the pool was shut during the day - it opened in the evening only - not a good thing for a spa hotel!!! Otherwise, no complaints atall

Excellent location, comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff, hot buffet breakfast very good, a really nice hotel and very good value for money. I would reccommend this to friends and family and would definately come back.

Room not over-large, but well designed (apart from too narrow wardrobe, owing to intrusion of cisterns etc from bathroom (which itself was just fine).Room service omelette was good, but with disgusting chips.Breakfast was good food-wise, apart from tasteless (stale?) grapefruit, and dismal basement location.You need to put `do not disturb` sign on door to stop staff from coming in and doing room while you have breakfast, because if they are still there when you come back, they will not be easy to shift!

Concierge and front desk service excellent. Room short of information on hotel services available. Limited wardrobe and drawer space for clothing. Bathroom unsatisfactory: floor covering loose; shower water spills onto floor past shower screen.

room rather pokey but comfortable

our room electrics were not good, lighting dark and decoration aging - not what I expected from a four star hotel.

This hotel is brilliantly situated for easy visiting of some of the main attractions in Paris. The communal areas are welcoming and the courtyard is lovely. The location made up for the tired decor of our rooms.

Tried to put us in room by lift. we moved and this room ok. Dreadful bed though and pillows.

Loved this hotel. Next door to most of the major sites or within easy walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms a good size, clean, tidy and relaxing. Breakfast good with both hot and cold food. Close to shops as well as restaurants and cafes (which were not over priced). Great value for money. If I go back to Paris I would stay here. Really enjoyed it.

Room was spacious and well presented away from any street noise but if we were being etremely fussy it was a little dark and matress lumpy. Thsi was minor and stay very enjoyablke we would definitrely stay again.

We asked to be moved and they did this without any fuss - to a much bigger and nicer room - so ok overall

We were allocated non smoking rooms but both stank of smoke. The furnishings were shoddy and the bathrooms poor, with mildew in one of the baths. For £200 per night per room we expected much better. Checking out was difficult and even when we checked in at 4pm one of the rooms was not ready. Really poor and we would certainly not stay there again. Linda Banner

As above + bed linen & towels changed daily. Lunch very good - French non-residents ate there. Would stay there again.
