Rooms are small and dining room is tiny BUT the whole hotel is absolutely beautiful, newly refurbished, very clean and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is quite basic, but fresh and plentiful. The only thing missing from the rooms is tea & coffee making facilities which is not uncommon for europe, but you can get drinks at the little bar in the reception. The hotel is situated in quite a busy area with plenty of bars and eating establishments, and there are a couple of metro lines nearby to get to the main city and tourist attractions. I would definately use this hotel again and recommmend to others.
Hotel is quite small but that is par for the course in Paris. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a slightly bigger room that had the most amazing shower, room 2. Staff very friendly and helpful nice enough area Place de La Nation only 5 mins walk, lots of bars and bistros there. Metro RER etc all only a few mins walk away.

dear Madam Sirthank you very much for you very nice review we are happy that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see again best regards
Bathroom and room size was perfect only downfall was windows dont open so its very hot, really quiet great nights sleep, breakfast was ok, staff were very helpful, would stay again! x
Boulevard Voltaire covers 7 metro stations so important to know that hotel is very close to Rue de Boulets metro on Line 9.Recently renovated hotel, very clean and comfortable, bedroom and bathroom small but fine for our two day stay. Free wi-fi access. Room was very quiet considering the busy boulevard.Staff were consistently helpful and pleasant.Breakfast excellent. Good bistros nearby at Nation and relatively easy to get to the main destinations eg metro from outside the hotel goes to Galeries Lafayette.Would definitely stay there again.
This was a very clean, well-run hotel with helpful and attentive staff. Our only reservation was the size of the room. We knew it would be small, but there really was no room at all other than to sleep - and even there, access to the bed at one side was difficult, as was access to very limited storage facilities. On the plus side, the list of very excellent restaurants provided by the hotel, that we would never have found or chosen ourselves, was worth the inconvenience of the small room.
Small friendly hotel. Staff excellent in all areas. Rooms compact, comfortable, clean and quiet. This hotel is slightly out of the centre but this is an advantage rather than disadvantage. The nearest Metro stop is on the doorstep and it`s only 10 minutes from the centre of Paris. The local (excellent) shops and restaurants are all consequently cheaper than in the centre. Neither of us speak more than very basic French but this was not a problem. Overall - highly recommended, and more to the point, we would return without hesitation.
Having seen comments about size of rooms I was a little concerned. However whilst slightly small the cleanliness, and friendliness of the hotel staff more than make up for this. There are good local restaurants and the metro is about 50 metres from the Hotel. I will book with them again without hesitation
Friendly, efficient caring staff. Clean, modern, well-furnished rooms. Excellent bathroom with power shower. Good breakfast. Would re-visit and recommend to friends.
I was however extremely distressed at the fact that our reservation for the first night was not recognised, and we had to trawl paris at midnight where we were put up in a TINY room no-where near where we were supposed to be located. The experience was extremely distressing and we were not given any re-assurance the problem would be resolved!
I found the hotel very clean and all the staff very helpful and friendly
Grand Hotel is conveniently situated, immaculately clean, comfortable and welcoming. It is also excellent value for money. We would highly recommend it and would willingly stay again. The only improvement could be the service at breakfast time.
excellent hotel. both me and my wife loved it. was very clean the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. stayed there for 6 nights and loved every night.
rooms small but ok staff brilliant freindly helpful breakfast room slightl small but service good
The hotel was in the process of being refurbished - final floor being done. The refurbishment was being managed so that there was no impact on guests. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. The rooms had been refurbished to a very high standard, but were a little small. You wouldn`t want to play with a cat in one,Overall enjoyed the stay and would seriously consider using the hotel again on a subsequent visit to Paris
I would recommend this hotel. Our room was clean, newly refurbished and well equiped, with air conditioning. They are refurbishing all the rooms at the moment, floor by floor (with the rooms unlet in the floor currently being done), but we didn`t hear any noise while we were there. The room was however a bit on the small side, but fine for the price. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was pretty good for a hotel.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Enjoyed our short stay. We were given a map on arrival which proved invaluable, especially as it included the metro system, the nearest stop was a 2 min walk from the hotel. Our room was clean, not as small as I was expecting, the air conditioning was an added bonus! The towels were changed daily and the bathroom was cleaned, it had a hand held shower over the bath, (which was not full length). Our room was at the side so we were not kept awake by the traffic, (just noisy guests next door!) it was a pretty quiet street in the evenings anyway. Breakfast was good, enough to fill us up to lunchtime. I would stay here again, as it was good value for money.
hotel being modernised, but resulting renovated rooms are modern with comfortable beds and air con. Staff were friendly enough, and the breakfast was ample though buffet continental style. Metro very nearby. area is okay, but nothing special. a practical solution for a few nights stay. We were happy with our choice
We really enjoyed our stay and upgraded to the superior room, Hotel manager very helpful and friendly, location great for metro and then all sights. Will stay again when in Paris.
We arrived after a very stressful start to our journey from Scotland to receive the most wonderful welcome at reception! The directions were spot on and easy to follow from the train station, as well as being given great advice on where to go and what to see. Our room was small but lovely with our very own balcony, clean and all we needed for a weekend of sight seeing. The breakfast was basic but fresh and plentiful and a great way to start the day. As the hotel isn`t in the centre of Paris we got a real feeling of Parisian life and can highly recommend the local restaurants. We will be using this hotel again next year!
My only reservation is that space in the room was very tight.
So pleasantly surprised with everything - room - service and staff care. Helped to make our short stay in Paris memorable. Would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The reception staff where very welcoming and helpful. Advice was given freely and helped save money with little tips on how the frence do things. The room was very clean and tidy, with a bath and hand held shower. The bed was very comfortable, and you could see the ongoing improvements will only make the hotel even better.. The builders started at 8:30 am which was not bad at all, very little noise the odd banging in the background. The breakfast was good and filling and set you up for the day. All the Paris attractions are in easy reach from the hotel by Metro, with a main Metro line station 300m away. All in all a good 3 star hotel that if and when we return to Paris again would look to rebook.
The newly-renovated rooms are nicely done i.e. design, quality of materials and work. (NB: they`re working their way down from the top floor with their renovations and have not quite made it all the way down.) The double glazing made my street-side room very quiet. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was standard, nothing amazing but it did the trick. Everything was clean and I truthfully have no complaints. My overall rating has to do with location more than my experience once at the hotel.
Clean, good location, very helpful reception staff, good breakfast, very convenient to be able to leave luggage after check out. Would stay there again.
Easy access to the Metro which is great for getting around Paris. Softer mattress would be great. This was the only fault.
Very Nice & Helpful staff, pleasant stay, room comortable but a bit on the small side.
Good breakfast, near metro, clean room, not expensive all making this a great choice for a city break. Will definitly use this hotel again.
Just stayed at Grand Hotel for two day visit to Paris. Overall we found hotel very clean and an excellent cheap hotel for a 2 day visit. Our room was a little small - but to be honest not an issue as a quick base for a 2 day trip. Location is excellent - loads of restaurants near by. Metro station is only 2min walk and give you full access to Paris. Hotel staff were very helpful and spoke very good english. I would really recommend this hotel. Breakfast was also very nice too.
We have just spent 4 days at the Grand Francais and had a fabulous time there. The staff could not have done any more to make us more welcome. The room was spotless. As per several other comments, they are not the largest of rooms, but perfectly adequate for the short time spent in them. The bed was extremely comfortable for a hotel bed. The breakfast was lovely and set you up well for the day. Having the metro just down the road was very useful and you could easily access anywhere in Paris from here. The added advantage of the luggage room was a bonus as it meant that the last day there was not wasted. We would definintely use this hotel again and would thoroughly recommend it to others.
Brilliant clean and friendly hotel in a perfect location to explore Paris.
Myself and partner stayed for 4 days. We were up graded on arrival to a suite which was a nice surprise. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel location was only 30m from the Metro so travelling around the city was made easy. There are many places to eat within easy walking distance to the Hotel, the closest being an Italian restaurant only next door. Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast and was very nice. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a nice, clean and quiet hotel.
The room was quiet and c omfortable with modern accessories. Towels were changed daily and the selection of fruit, croissants, yoghurt, rolls, cheese, meat, orange and other refreshments available at breakfast were fresh and very tasty. The service we received from all the staff was not only polite and helpful at all times, but warm and humerous as well. We were shy about trying out our french and were very much encouraged and made to laugh about our inadequacies in dealing with the french language when faced with French staff who spoke English so fluently in comparison, we were very grateful for their patience. We were also offered information about the surrounding restaurants including a map and this proved very helpful when trying to choose where to go with so much on offer.
We had used this hotel last year and the reason why we returned was due to the friendly helpful staff and the good location of the hotel. This time the manager recognised us and gave us a lovely refurbished room. The staff made us feel welcome and once again we found the hotel to be relly good value.
bigger than normal breakfast room with a good choice of food, friendly staff and a nice big room - not that common in the centre of Paris
Room small the forthcoming refurbishments would help but otherwise, room cleaning very good, and breakfast welcoming also administration highly rated for politeness and excellent service and co-operation would recommend this service
I have no words, I would simply advise anyone to pay a visit to Grand Hotel.
