The Hotel was ideally located. The staff friendly. The breakfast not too great, cheap sausages and a queue for the toaster! Cheap OJ too. Definately needed a lick of paint but was OK for one night, seemed clean enough and on the plus side the bed was VERY comfortable!! We were on the ground floor (room 5) which also had air con / heating and we were not distrurbed by any noise.If I stayed again I would ensure we didn`t have breakfast (not worth it!) and had a ground floor as i think was probably the best option.

Good location, tired decor, hot room but friendly staff and very clean

For the price we paid we expected a higher standard of decor. Paint was chipped, bathroon floor tiles cracked. Room looked like something you would expect from a cheap seaside B@B! The television was basic, the bed was not comfortable, only 1 pillow each. The shower was a basic over the bath model that you couldn`t stand under properly because of the slopping ceiling. Very disappointing.

Staff also need training as the cleaners removed paperwork from our room which was nowhere near the rubbish bin.

Fantastic hotel. Situated in a good area close to the underground. Staff were very pleasant. No problem with checking in or out. Excellent breakfast. The only faults to the hotel is bedroom is due for a re-painting and television needs tuning in but bedroom was clean and spacious. Great value for the price we paid. Would definiately use the hotel again and recommend it to other people.

Bathroom in very poor condition. Broken tiles,cracked handbasin,dirty grouting around the bathand toilet,however,staff very welcoming,breakfast very good,beds were clean and comfortable

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast was fine. The Hotel itself was a bit shabby and tired looking. The location however suited us well and it was fine for our requirements.

Clean and comfortable which to me is the main thing. It is an old building with large entrance area and large old fashioned staircase which I love to come down but used lifts to go up.....Good location 2 mins from the Kensington tube. Breakfast is what you want yoghurts/fresh fruit /cereal /toast/eggs bacon etc .Friendly staff We would use hotel again

Good location, handy for public transport.Must sort out the bar. Residents expect to be able to get a drink. Bar seemed to shut when it wanted.

we enjoyed our stay and will be returning in 3 weeks for a couple of nights before heading home. All reception staff were very accommodating and helpful.

I only stayed 2 nights because I wanted to visit the Natural History & Science museums.Booked a single room & got a twin bed - so it was large enough. May be because I only booked a couple of days beforehand. Hot weather was alleviated by a fan supplied. Bed was a bit hard for me. Decor/quality was good enough. Standard breakfast looked OK. opted to pay £3.50 extra for full English. Felt I needed a good start. This was excellent.The staff attitude, friendliness & helpfulness was exceptionaly good. The hotel is close to loads of cafes & restaurants. Need to go further if you want more. I would go for a longer stay.

Carpet at entry badly stained which gave a bad impression.Everywhere else well kept,clean and tidy, Disappointed no air conditioning in the bedroom. The security lock of bedroom door required maintenance on three occasions. Hand basin in bathroom required maintenance -could not remove stopper. Breakfast satisfactory. Would stay again as Hotel is central and convenient.

We thought the hotel was most comfortable, clean with very good food. Parts of the hotel are slightly shabby but the public rooms were of a very good standard. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel for its location, price, good food and comfort.

The hotel provided us with a triple bedroom which are hard to come by so this was a bonus. |The room was spacious and well equipped. The hotel was not far from amenties and really nice restaurants and close the the tube station. The staff were friendly but few spoke good english so communciation was difficult at times.

Hotel is very run down; single room was extremely small, stuffy and hot. Old carpets and furniture, TV wasn`t working properly, very few channels anyway. Breakfast was very basic. On a positive point location is great, very close to tube station.

Air conditioning in bedrooms unsatisfactiry. Lousy shower - bathroom overall a bit tired. English breakfast very limited but continental breakfast good. Staff very helpful and friendly

as i`m sure you know, the interior of the hotel is very tired, and the rooms are the same. however the price you charge for the location you sre in is just fine for me, i will stay again.

Arrived before check-in time to leave luggage, and informed receptionist that we`d not return till late evening. She said she`d leave a message to that effect to her colleague who`d then be on duty. Returned at 22.30 to find room already occupied, no doubt unsetting other client when we tried, fortunately unsuccessfully, to get in with three card keys successively given to us as each would not function and finally the receptionist tried with a metal key. Then we had to wait 30 minutes - until 23.00 hrs - when all we wanted was to get to bed for an early start in the morning, to be given another room. That room and breakfast were fine.

Valuable accommodation

We had a large, comfortable, slightly shabby room. The overall impression of the hotel is of slightly faded grandeur. Pleasant staff and really conveniently situated for South Kensington tube and all the museums. Good value for one night`s stay.
